Meet Tasha Reign

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Reign.

Tasha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and raised in Laguna Beach, California. I had a large, blended family growing up. I had a unique high school experience as a castmate for “Laguna Beach” season 3 on MTV. Shooting every weekend with my friends, documenting our lives. I had always looked up to sexy public figures and when the television show “Girls Next Door” came out, I realized that I would most certainly need to pursue that lifestyle at the Playboy mansion.

I moved to Los Angeles with a guise to go to school, meanwhile trying to get into the adult modeling industry. I did end up getting my undergraduate degree in women’s studies at UCLA while going to the Playboy mansion every weekend and getting involved with the brand. I wasn’t fully where I wanted to be work wise so I decided to take the plunge into the xxx movie making arena.

I started making adult films in 2010 and have shot hundreds of films since. I have enjoyed many of the experience the adult industry has given me. I have also spoken out as an activist for women and for adult performers who have experienced sexual assault and harassment within the business.

I love the company I have built, the websites and platforms that have allowed me to capitalize on my brand. I feel empowered and creative, getting to live my life and entertain people for a living, through social media as an influencer, as well as on paid sites creating art.

Last week I finished up my master’s degree in specialized journalism at USC. I am now writing a weekly column for Mel Magazine, a progressive men’s magazine. Meanwhile, I am getting my body in tip-top shape and heading back to shooting movies. I had been concentrating on school. I live in Topanga now, deep in the green hills with my two miniature pot-bellied piglets, Harley and Quinn. I have three chickens, two puppies and we really love nature.

Occasionally I speak at universities across California and fraternities about consent, sex, and the adult business. I hope that my story inspires others and above all, allows for people to realize that they can do anything they want in life, we are not limited to the strict boxes society tries to put us in.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has most certainly not been a smooth road. Every opportunity that I have is incredible but rarely have they been smooth. During school, it was challenging to stay focused when I was working so much in the adult world. In the adult world, it is extremely completive and challenging to stand out amongst the many talented performers. The wear and tear emotionally, physically and psychology can be tolling. I don’t recommend the job to many people. You have to have a certain resilience and lack of care for what other people think of you. My family was not supportive initially of my career, now, for the most part, they are. I had trouble with men taking me seriously or seeing me for more than my sexuality, I have resolved this since and found a man that values me for me. I have felt demeaned at school by some professors and society for the work that I do. I sought therapy and spirituality to overcome this. You just have to keep moving forward.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am an adult actress, I make movies for people to enjoy. I am a model and take photos to entertain my fans. I am journalist and write content to bring happiness and probing questions to the world around me. Most importantly, I am a mother of pigs to Harley and Quinn. What makes my story unique is my intimate perspective in a traditionally male-oriented industry as a women’s studies expert. My writing and performances will have an undertone to them that is deeply intertwined in feminism. I love my fans, who I endearingly call my Reigndeer. I enjoy the internet interaction with my fans via email and social media more than I probably should. I think what really sets me apart from other people is my work ethic and determined mindset. I am not afraid of sacrifice.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have many of mentors. For one, my boyfriend Kyle is my cheerleader and his support inspires me every day. My best friends Lexie, Taylor, and Dru make me feel so loved and appreciated. My mom is beyond creative and talented as an interior designer so her passion and art has shaped all my tastes in every genre. My aunt Cheri is a woman I look up to because of her work ethic and financial advice. Lastly, Kim Kardashian West is my Idol. My thesis committee members Sandy Tolan and Richard Reeves have given me constructive criticism and therefore made me a better writer. I believe that I will write a strong memoir in the near future.
