Hi Taleen, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey with Purse Rehab started about 6 years ago when I was contemplating leaving my career in finance and starting my own venture! I didn’t need to look very far as here was our family business which has been in existence for nearly 4 Decades serving the Malibu community and the surrounding areas. With increased demand for true craftsmanship and repairs for designer handbags and shoes, the concept of Purse Rehab was born. The idea of using technology to unite clients looking for experienced artisans to work on their treasured handbags, both vintage and contemporary was extremely intriguing for me and making us easily accessible online was the goal!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Deciding to leave a 24+ year career with an established company and spinning off a new business venture during the COVID pandemic was not an easy task! Our storefront in Malibu, a staple in that community, had to be shut down for several weeks. People’s fear of interacting with others face to face, universities being shut down, corporations allowing folks to work from home, didn’t help the shoe and handbag repair industry, either! But I consider myself an optimist, and the silver lining was people spending more time at home, were cleaning out their closets and revamping their shoe and handbag collection. Our website(purserehab.com) made it very easy for them to fill out an inquiry, get a quote within 24 hours, and ship us their items! Business was booming!

We are a Luxury Handbag and Shoe Restoration company, providing services nationwide and globally. Our craft comes from three generations of cobblers – each with their own journey and vision. With decades of experience, excellent customer service and true attention to detail. We specialize in intricate repairs and restoration of all leather types including exotics, canvas and fabric. We also replate hardware and upcycle material!

My biggest supporter is my husband, who has always stood by my side and encouraged me to take on challenges and tackle them head on! Our 2 amazing daughters who are eager to learn the business and I’m hoping will take this incredible venture to the next level! Our clients, who have so much confidence and trust in our skills and craftsmanship. Our entire team, whose dedication and work ethic is unmatched!
