Meet Szilvia Szabo of Pure Beauty Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Szilvia Szabo.

Szilvia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I got interested in skin care and nutrition in my teenage years. I read a lot of books and articles about how to keep my skin clean and healthy. After graduating from high school, I decided to continue my education in the aesthetics field. I went to a two years Aesthetics College in Hungary, where I got my Aesthetician diploma. The Aesthetician training in my country is very serious, and I am very grateful for the education I got there. After graduation, I have worked in spas in Hungary and later on, here in Los Angeles. I have worked in many medical spas from Beverly Hills, through Bell Air to Pasadena. I have worked with several different product lines as well.

In 2008, I finally decided it’s time to work for myself and I opened Pure Beauty Aesthetics. While starting my own spa, I also began my college education in the field of nutrition. I have completed my studies and received my Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science and became a Nutritionist in 2014. I strongly believe that a healthy balanced diet combined with the right facial treatments and skin care products will help my clients to achieve a healthy and beautiful skin. I am keen on educating my clients on treatments, ingredients and healthy lifestyle habits.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Working in medical spas was not the best fit for me. I found it very impersonal and limiting. I felt like it was more about the quantity over the quality, which is not in line with my standards. Starting your own business has its own challenges. It was a little difficult during my college years while I studied and worked at the same time. It was a long journey, but it was definitely worth it. In the end of the day, my job is very rewarding. I love what I do and I love my clients. I enjoy being my own boss, to make my own decisions and to set my own schedule and standards. In the past three years my business has expanded and it continues to grow.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Pure Beauty Aesthetics story. Tell us more about the business.
Pure Beauty Aesthetics is a small, one-person business. I specialize in Acne and Anti-aging treatments with the use of natural and chemical-free products. I am very results and detail oriented. I am well known for my meticulous extractions, the “to die for” facial massage, and for my knowledge and passion for natural skin care and health. I like to educate everyone on the importance of proper, natural skin care and on a clean and healthy lifestyle. I am proud of constantly growing my business in the past eight years and for my all five stars rating on Yelp. I am continuously educating myself to help my clients to take their skin care to the next level.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I feel very fortunate that I have received my Aesthetics education in Hungary. It has given me a solid foundation to build on in my field. I am also very lucky to be able to do what I love and to have an amazing clientele.
