Meet Sydney Hollaway of Createdlove in Carson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Hollaway.

Sydney, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My sister died right before my 21st birthday while my son was five months. That shook the fuck out of me. That woke me up. After that, I took up nursing, got in passed first try. Hustled. Made a brand, got a little popular off my hair and makeup on Instagram from my cousin @jstlivinbaby. Sold some glasses + necklaces + did eyelashes + redid some resumes for money.

Took the real estate exam, passed that. Now I’m in nursing school about to make a scrub line and nursing help program. Ultimately I want to be a CRNA.

Has it been a smooth road?
Whaaaaaaat is a smooth road. Hell no. There is no smooth road anywhere. Losing my sister, had another love baby, failed the first half of 2nd semester of nursing school, my grandpa had a stroke leaving him unable to speak, my grandma died, my Bestfriend got shot in the head and survived in my 3rd semester but all of this while in nursing school. I struggled with thinking I wasn’t enough, always thinking I’m never doing enough, trying to juggle kids/school/sports/work and study at least 8 hrs a day. I’m doing it, it’s hard but the most high doesn’t make mistakes and I’ll always be where I’m supposed to be. You just gotta learn balance.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Createdlove story. Tell us more about the business.
@createdlovescrubs will be my scrub line that will have everything from compression socks to fanny packs. @thewinklife is my eyelash company. I want to eventually have a lash bar. @createddloveshades are my glasses. @themothersconnect will eventually be where moms can connect, do fun things together & build good relationships. Right now it’s just my spot for cool mom stuff.

I’m most known for my red hair, but I can’t have red hair in nursing school sooo … I’ll be back December 13th 😂

Proud of my motivation and endurance because life gets real!

I’m never giving up and I’m going to outwork everybody. There’s nothing I can’t do or learn.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I really work off my mood, so whatever I’m feeling I know the consumer will feel. They just gotta see it enough… good marketing. Whatever happens, I want to be consistent and have principles.
