Meet Sydney Fox of West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Fox.

Hi Sydney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
“I came to California with a suitcase full of survival instincts and big dreams.”

On the surface, I had it together—I was a personal trainer, checking all the boxes, keeping busy, and doing what looked like “success.” But behind the scenes, I was burned out, disconnected, and chasing self-worth in all the wrong places. I felt like too much and not enough at the same time—a contradiction that many people silently carry.

I realized that if I was going to make it—not just professionally, but emotionally and spiritually—I had to stop pushing and start healing. That journey led me inward: I began studying the nervous system, got certified as a yoga instructor, then as a nutrition coach. Eventually, I pursued my Master’s in Clinical Psychology and became an Associate Therapist.

Now, I blend movement, mindfulness, and mental health into everything I do. My approach is holistic, heart-led, and rooted in the belief that healing doesn’t mean having it all figured out—it means choosing to show up with honesty, courage, and compassion, even when it’s messy.

My mission is simple: to help people come back home to themselves—confident, grounded, empowered, and still evolving.

I also recently launched a TikTok series called Valid But Dramatic—because life is chaotic, your feelings are valid, and let’s be honest: we all need a little humor with our healing.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road—more like a winding, bumpy one with some breakdowns, detours, and a few “how did I end up here?” moments.

There were years where I was surviving more than living—caught in cycles of self-sabotage, unhealthy relationships, and chasing validation. I’ve struggled with self-worth, perfectionism, burnout, and the constant pressure to be “put together” while falling apart behind the scenes. There were moments I felt completely unlovable and stuck in a loop of trying to prove I was enough.

Even after I started healing, the process was messy. I had to relearn everything—from how I speak to myself to how I let others treat me. It took radical honesty, accountability, and more than a few uncomfortable growing pains.

But every setback taught me something. And now I get to hold space for others as they navigate their own messy middle. I always say healing isn’t linear, and I mean that from experience. It’s not always smooth—but it is always worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist—but that’s just one part of who I am. I’m also a yoga instructor, personal trainer, nutrition coach, and life coach. My path to healing—and helping others heal—has never been linear, which is why my work is holistic. It’s layered. And it honors the mind, body, and spirit.

I specialize in working with teens and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, addiction recovery, ADHD, self-esteem struggles, and the complexities of personality disorders. But more than that, I help people rebuild trust with themselves—so they can create lives that feel meaningful, empowering, and aligned.

What sets me apart is my integrative approach and lived experience. I blend traditional talk therapy with somatic practices, movement, DBT, CBT, IFS, and real-world tools you can actually use outside of the therapy room. Because true healing doesn’t happen by just understanding your story—it happens when you feel safe enough to rewrite it.

Clients come to me when they’re tired of pretending they’re okay. When they want to feel seen in their struggle—and supported in their growth. My job is to meet them in the messy middle and walk with them back to themselves. This is a space where all of you is welcome.

I also created Valid But Dramatic, a TikTok series where I combine humor, chaos, and coping skills to remind people that healing can be both serious and silly. You can cry, grow, spiral a little, and still be doing the work.

And for those just starting their wellness journey, I wrote A 10-Day Beginner’s Guide to Creating Healthy Habits, available now on Amazon. Because sometimes, all it takes is ten intentional days to start changing your life.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is feeling like I’m truly living—not just existing.

It’s the little things, like a slow morning, good music, or deep conversations that feel like home. It’s movement that clears my mind, being near people who see me, and moments where I feel both peaceful and powerful in my own skin.

It’s also growth—mine and others’. Watching someone realize they’re enough, witnessing healing in real time, or even just having a day where I feel proud of how far I’ve come. That’s joy to me.

Happiness isn’t constant, but it’s available—in the quiet, the messy, the breakthroughs, and the in-betweens. I’ve stopped chasing it and started creating space for it.
