Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Chase.
Sydney, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am originally from Maryland. Ever since I was little I always told my family I’d live in “LA”. I knew it was where I was meant to be, where I’d truly flourish and step into making my dreams my reality. In 2018 I finally decided it was time to up and make the big move, to take a chance for not only myself but to give my (then 2.5-year-old) daughter more opportunities for her future. After making it to the big city, I began booking jobs left and right everything happened so fast but I was loving it. A new adventure had truly begun. Between 2018 & 2023, a lot had happened. Many positives yet a few negatives (as some would see). In hindsight, all of the experiences were those to learn from. After modeling for a few years, I still loved it so much but I always knew I wanted more. I wanted to continue modeling but model for myself and my own brand. One key thing I became very stuck on throughout life was smelling great, to me that’s one of my favorite compliments; “Wow, what’re you wearing? I love that scent, what is it?” After long nights of research and searching within myself to see what it was I really desired and loved doing I knew my own Body Oil line was the perfect choice for me. I drew the exact designs I was envisioning & dreaming of.
I went through many different testing samples for the perfect scent and really looked into the best body oil types for all skin. Early mornings & long nights every day led me to finally seeing my product right in front of me. It was exactly how and what I wanted it to be all along. I now am the owner of Bodied By Chase; top-shelf scented body oil. I wanted some of the bottles to have glitter, as I know many relate to my love for glitter and shine but also make some without because sadly we can’t be covered in glitter during every occasion! The body oil is nourishing and makes your skin shine, all while making you smell so amazing you don’t even need to use perfume. My business has been something I have fully fallen in love with from the start. My daughter loves to be my little helper, or even ask if she can “Put some Bodied on” as she’s my biggest cheerleader. 🙂
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I definitely wouldn’t say it was a smooth road, but doesn’t that make it more beautiful? There’s almost always struggles for everyone, especially when you have the drive and potential to be something, to do something. My biggest one would probably be… Back in 2018 after moving to LA, I was in a pretty bad car accident in which left me in a coma. After this happened for a while, I wondered if there was ever any coming back from that? I had bad scars on my face, would anyone still want me to model for them? I lost “friends” since I couldn’t do much. They told me I shouldn’t work for a while, how would I afford living in LA? I truly believe we become faced with certain tragedies to be tested to see if we can overcome them. To see if our will and desire is strong enough. If you believe you are here for a purpose, to be something greater you have to push past everything you’re faced with and come out stronger than you ever were before; that’s exactly what I did. I went back to work, I took the no’s as something that just wasn’t meant for me and kept going. I focused on the fact that I knew where I was at that current moment wasn’t where it ended for me. The dreams, the visions, they were still obtainable, but I was the only one that truly knew that. You’ll run into many no’s yet you can’t let that stop you along the road to your yes’.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a model and business owner. Over the years I’ve done different modeling for print, videos, and many other categories. I fell in love with this as a kid, and the love remained ever since. As much as I love modeling, owning my own business and having my own brand is an unexplainable feeling. Knowing you created it from nothing, just a thought and now other people in the world have it on their vanities and use it themselves. I’m truly proud of that.
Any big plans?
My future plans include continuing to expand my company, getting it into multiple stores, as well as making more scents available to choose from. This really is only the beginning for me. I can’t wait to see more and more individuals try it for themselves and fall in love with it.
