Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzana Palyan.
Suzana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
At the age of ten, I developed photography skills working with my father’s company where he offered event videography/photography services. After he decided to exit his career, I decided to pick up the camera and start my journey in my own direction moving towards the fashion and entertainment field.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Having a career in photography requires discipline and focus to be able to build a strong foundation. Around the age of 18 is when I really picked up the camera however at a young age I had a strong desire to design women’s wear so I decided to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise. The only struggle was my frustration between the love for the two (fashion & photography). I was so scared to go with just one so I was tearing my self apart trying to do both at the same time. A time came when I decided I need to fully invest myself and dedicate my time with photography, and from then on my business grew and I am now able to not only shoot but design as well.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I specialize in portrait/product photography. What motivates me the most is the happiness I receive in return of my services. Being able to work with each individual and bond while we create and capture is something I really am thankful for. One of my specialties is being able to make the person in front of the camera feel comfortable and at the same time have a good time. When the energy is good the outcome is excellent.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I do like to think that luck exists but more importantly, I believe it is the thoughts you put in your mind. When you choose to think positively and really believe in yourself, you will start to see opportunity line up from thin air.
