Meet Susanna Litwack of Law Offices of Susanna Litwack in Burbank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Susanna Litwack.

Susanna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
When I was 14 years old, I started volunteering at the Burbank City Attorney’s office, which was the first time I was exposed to the practice of law and as an immigrant myself, to a professional environment. I was there for two years, which was a tremendous opportunity for me and after that, I knew I wanted to be a lawyer.

After graduating, I found myself working at a big law firm in Sherman Oaks and decided this isn’t what I want for myself, I want to start a business. I figured doing that was the only way I’d be able to pay back my student loan from law school! For me, having my own practice and directly representing clients in need was the best way to grow as a lawyer and as an individual.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing worth doing is easy or smooth, but overcoming the most difficult challenges is what makes my job worth doing. I’ve done hundreds of hours of prep to go into federal court to advocate and win cases for my clients, and similarly to fight insurance companies to get life-changing workers’ compensation settlements. Honestly, if it were easy, I wouldn’t feel like I was doing enough for my clients.

Please tell us about Law Offices of Susanna Litwack.
I’m a California-licensed attorney here in sunny Burbank, specializing in immigration law and workers’ compensation for people who are hurt on the job. With immigration, I represent the family members of U.S. citizens who may be in other countries and citizens who marry people from other countries, along with victims of abuse and torture. With workers’ compensation, I fight insurance companies on behalf of people who are seriously injured at work. That doesn’t mean you have a problem with your employer, it means you have an advocate who will stand by you and fight for fair treatment and compensation.

I’m known for my high rate of client satisfaction, which you can see if you look us up on Yelp. I communicate with my clients. It might sound like nothing, but at lots of firms if you call after you sign up you will never be able to talk to the attorney you hired – you’ll get bounced to different paralegals. At my office, I pride myself on getting back to my clients and making myself available when they have questions.

What sets us apart from other law offices is our success rate. I fight for my clients, and I don’t take a case unless I’m confident we can win.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Like Jeff Bezos says, every day is ‘Day One’. I wouldn’t change anything – of course, we’ve made mistakes, but we’re always looking for ways to improve the client experience and that focus never wavers.
