Meet Studio City Photographer: Alexzander Carnel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexzander Carnel.

Alexzander, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always loved art and technology.
I originally started schooling for 3D Animation at a trade school called East Valley Institute of Technology, during my senior year of high school in Phoenix Arizona. I did very well in my studies there in 3D Studio Max. I soon found myself not being as enthusiastic as I thought I would be about that career path.

After a few years of freelance graphic design work… I found myself owning my first digital SLR ever in 2007, it was a FujiFilm S2 Pro & I absolutely fell in love with capturing the moments, the memories, and the emotions surrounding us all in everyday life. Since then I have used cameras ranging from 35mm & Medium Format Film to all flavors of digital cameras and mainly use Nikon for work.

I have been shooting professionally since 2008, and I worked very hard to put both my work & myself out there so I can make a living doing something I truly love. I never believed in focusing all your energy into one thing so my lines of work range from Portraiture, weddings, even prom to behind the scenes stills for films.

I want to create a unique experience for my clients and as a photographer, I strive to work with people I can build a business & personal relationship with, I strongly believe that is a key part in building a returning & long term client base and even friendships…

What’s the hardest part of your job?
The hardest part of what I do is communication with potential clients or projects. It is extremely important to ask clarifying questions when discussing a job, you should never assume you know what your client wants or needs… because 90% of the time they don’t even know what they really want or what they actually need. It’s important to understand the needs so you can ask the questions you need to do the best job you can to embody what they are trying to achieve.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I always strive for the perfect in the imperfect, my goals for a “Successful” shoot lay in what the client has provided for me as a direction. It is always my focus to make sure at the end of everything I want my client looking at the end result and just have the feeling of “Awe”, or just stating that everything is just amazing! I strive for the biggest smiles and the happiest emotions.

What are your plans for the future?
Plans for the future….. Well… take more pictures of course. haha, but on a serious note, we have some big projects coming up that we are excited about as well as other opportunities to expand to other corners of some untapped markets for us.
