Meet Steven Briggs of Steven Briggs comedy in West hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Briggs.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started to stand up on accident by getting invited up on stage to tell a story. The story happened to get a lot of laughs and before I knew it I was getting booked for shows and eventually traveling overseas to perform for our troops in Iraq. I now go every year overseas and perform for our troops as well as performing for them on bases in the states.

I eventually wanted to take my storytelling even further so I competed in the moth story slam and ended up taking first place. I realized I had a knack for storytelling and wanted to make it come more alive so I started writing, shooting and editing short comedy videos which now I produce every week.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been a smooth road. My entire family tried to talk me out of doing this and even had a career intervention for me since my mom really wanted me to be a doctor or a youth pastor.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Steven Briggs comedy – what should we know?
I’m known for doing storytelling that is painted through act outs, character voices and sound effects.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Doing comedy that everyone can relate to.
