Meet Stephanie Mbachu of Lagos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Mbachu

Hi Stephanie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I had gone viral during the COVID-19 Lockdown but I did not utilize it as my family did not approve of it. I come from a Nigeran household, rich in culture and respect. Thinking back, I wish I capitalized it but I guess everything happens for a reason. In April 2023, an influencer friends reached out to me about an idea of a multimedia company and thought I would be a perfect fit as its Creative Director. I had already made acquittances with a good number of people in the industry so it was not so difficult getting guests for our X Spaces show we started. We always started a visual podcast. We interviewed a number of people in the music industry from performing artists to producers and managers. When I would interview them, I would make sure to leave my mark on them that they will be forced to follow me on social media. I started getting invited to exclusive events and hosting. I fully delved into being a creative director for other brands. Hosted a football charity match as well as directed my very 202 music documentary. In April 2024, a friends, ana artist, asked me to be in charge of his PR for his album. I emerged into a different branch of the industry. Being a publicist has enlarged my phonebook. I am s grateful to my two friends who decided to give me a chance in a completely new world. I was trying to break into the acting scene but I am glad I have found my footing in the music industry. I feel at home. I am coming for everything in 2025, remember my name.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth ride as I am a woman tryin to pave a way and make a name for myself. No one takes us seriously but that is okay because it makes my success as the end sweeter. What is success without a little obstacle? Exactly. Unfortunately, I do not know how to give up. I have had people promise and fail, owe me money, use my talent for free, deceive me but like I said that is okay. It makes my story better. I have had to learn how to stand up 10 times when I fall 9 times. I have also had to learn that nothing comes easy. It is all part of the artist progress because a fast rise to fame is a fast fall. I am learning a lot that will sustain me for a long time in the industry. Everything will make sense in the end.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Creative Director, a Publicist, A Writer and A Host. I believe there is so much more I can do but these are what I specialize in. My friends call me “SNM, do all” because the name says it all. If you have an upcoming project and would love a director, someone to give creative directives on the best outcome, I am the best fit. I am a PR manager, I have a lot of influencers on payroll. If you have a budget, I help you utilize that budget. I set out narratives that work best with your niche and type of music. I am also an incredible host for events. I can control a crowd and make them have the best time of their money’s worth. I write and voice a YouTube series that has done well. I am so proud that I have found a way to get my hands on so many things creatively. All I have to do is learn and perfect my craft. Whats set me apart? I cannot be boxed. I always try and try until I get a Yes. I am multifaceted. I am super proud that I have barely been in this industry for 2 years but I have achieved so much and made long lasting acquittances.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
