Meet Stephanie Lynn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Lynn.

Stephanie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My career as a makeup artist started as a hobby. I wanted to learn makeup so I could do it on myself but it ended up turning into my passion. I am self-taught but developed my skills while I worked for Sephora & then MAC. I began to build my own brand because I wanted to travel the world, do makeup and get paid to do it which birthed Beautifully Beat by Stephanie which has turned into Stephanie Lynn Artistry & Beauty. I still work a regular job in order to fund my ultimate dream but I am dedicated to fully become my own brand.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My journey has been far from easy and I’ve encountered a lot of setbacks… I think a lot of people do. Along the way, I have worked many jobs where I felt unappreciated and constantly made to feel as I wasn’t enough. One big thing I’ve learned is we have to make sacrifices for thing we really loved and that decision lead to a big obstacle. I left a full-time job in order to take a 12-hour position at MAC. My pay went down significantly but I felt like in order to be a confident artist, I needed to get experience there. In the long tin it did work out and after a couple of years, I moved into a really great position.

Another struggle is having support from family and friends, my dreams are huge and sometimes scary so for many they didn’t understand. I leaned with that everyone won’t understand and to focus on those that do support you and eventually everything will fall into place.

Please tell us about Stephanie Lynn Artistry & Beauty.
I have a few businesses, my main is Stephanie Lynn Artistry & Beauty, I am a working makeup artist and started a lash line and in April I’m expanding to lipsticks and lip pencils as well. I have a YouTube channel where I do makeup, cook and review many things that’s called ‘All Things Stephanie Lynn’

I also have a lifestyle podcast that I’ve been doing almost a year and a half that is called ‘Beauty, Brains & BS’. It is my outlet and has become therapeutic for me. My podcast focuses on motivating people from my life experiences with a little bit of the shaderoom and espn thrown in the mix.

My most proud thing about all my brands are they are all something I truly believe in and are passionate about. I truly put my all and my best into my work and my brands. The biggest thing that sets me apart from other brand is I’m self-made and always true to myself.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I could start over, I would work on my focus and discipline. I spent a couple of years being lazy and half doing things. I would be much further if I was as driven then as I am not. Other than that, everything I’ve done made me who I am today so I can’t complain too much.
