Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Bachez.
Stephanie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
What started as a hobby turned into a business. I’ve always been drawn to jewelry. I specifically remember going through my mom and grandmothers jewelry boxes and being gifted broken or single, and I would have fun trying to transform them into a new unique piece for myself.
My inspiration for my jewelry line, Pueblo, was inspired by my hometown of Santa Monica’s relaxed lifestyle along with my simplistic aesthetic.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, definitely not. There were a few hurdles to overcome, one being a self-taught jewelry maker. Secondly, it was hard to find jewelry manufactures in LA that wanted to work with me. I wanted to make sure I worked with only local businesses, but finding manufacturers to help plate some of my early pieces with gold, was a challenge – no one would give me a chance. They would only work with you if you had large minimum orders and I was always dismissed. When I first started, I would just go to DTLA and pick a building and knock on every door in hopes to find a manufacturer that would work for with me and give me a chance. Eventually, it worked.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Pueblo – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Pueblo jewelry is meticulously handcrafted, and all materials are sourced from Los Angeles.
We are known for our light and relaxed everyday pieces that are made to build and expand your daily signature wear. Pueblo was inspired by my small town (Pueblos) and is made using luxury materials.
What is unique about this combination is being able to wear low key fine jewelry that you can take anywhere around the world – from small Pueblo’s too big cities.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I look forward to watching Pueblo jewelry grow and to creating a new collection that will consist of unique “one-off” pieces that will be available only at pueblo.com
