Meet Stefania Spampinato

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stefania Spampinato.

Stefania, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started dancing at 6 years old. I was super passionate about it from a very young age.

My parents couldn’t afford to pay for my tuition bc the costumes were so expensive, but my mother was determined to make it happen so she learned to sew & started making my costumes so I could attend. Slowly she got so good that she started making them for the whole school!

I kept studying dance and after graduating high school I moved to Milan where I got a BA in performing arts. That lead to a super fun and fulfilling a career in dance & theatre that lasted over 12 years. I traveled all over the world and was involved in collaborations with some incredible artists. In 2011 I decided to move to LA where I quickly fell deeply in love with acting. I decided to stop dancing to study acting and practice acting with anyone that would give me the chance to.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been incredibly hard and challenging, I almost quit several times. I don’t think anyone enjoys dealing with rejection on a daily basis, but the love for the art form always kept me going and with help and the support of the loved ones I stuck to it.

Tell us about your business/company. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?

My most recent credit as an actor is the role of Carina Deluca in Grey’s Anatomy season 14. It has been an incredible experience. I got to work with some great professionals and the thing that I love the most about the show is that it talks about issues that are extremely relevant now- domestic violence, police brutality, discrimination, racism, etc. I’m very proud to be part of it.

Who else deserves credit – have you had mentors, supporters, cheerleaders, advocates, clients or teammates that have played a big role in your success or the success of the business? If so – who are they and what role did they plan / how did they help.
I was very lucky, I met a lot of incredible people along my journey that believed in me and supported me throughout my journey, but the person that I owe everything to is my mom. She loved and supported me unconditionally my whole life. She brought me down to earth when I was getting too cocky and she lifted me up when I was sinking. She sacrificed a great deal of time, effort and energy to able me to follow my dreams. She will always be my idol and role model. Always.
