Meet Stan Kowalski

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stan Kowalski.

Stan Kowalski

Hi Stan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, I was born and raised in Poland. I wanted to be an actor since I remember. After high school, I took a one-year acting course in Warsaw. After I went to Australia to learn English and more about life. After 3 years, I played in one Chinese movie in Melbourne; at the end of the shooting, I asked the director of the movie if I could go with them to China. He agreed and I went to Beijing for 3 months, I supposed to play in another movie there, but something went wrong, and they cancel the movie. I didn’t really like to be there, so I moved to Tokyo in Japan instead. I was working mostly as a background. I booked one movie that was supposed to be on Amazon Prime. Unfortunately, covid 19 happened, and they canceled the project. I had to come back to Poland. After a few months, I found an ad about my school, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts” based in Los Angeles. I applied for it, and they accepted me. The school was for two years. I graduated 6 months ago, and right now, I’m building my career here. I booked one TV show as one of the lead characters, and we are going to start shooting at the end of March.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge was to not give up on acting. It’s easy to find a part- or full-time job and forget about it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an actor based in Los Angeles. I think graduating from my acting school was a big achievement. Because of my accent I was always a step behind, so I had to work twice as much.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
To be honest, nowadays everything is changing so quickly, it’s hard to say what movie industry is going to look like. For sure, we are going to evolve in special effects so much that we won’t have to shoot anything outside anymore. All we gonna need is a room with a green screen. Vertical short films are getting popular. It’s definitely going to be much easier for new actors to start their careers.
