Meet Spencer Henry of Cult Liter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Spencer Henry.

Spencer, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been producing content for L’Oreal for several years and started producing my own content as well on Instagram @SpencerHenry. I started out by doing little story segments on different murder cases, something that’s always interested me. It turns out a lot of my followers were interested as well, and I decided to take the leap and launch my podcast Cult Liter in September of 2018.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was quite the learning process. From playing with editing audio, recording, getting it onto the different platforms, each step involved learning something new.

I tried to do as much research as possible before launching and learned consistency is key.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Cult Liter story. Tell us more about the business.
Cult Liter is a podcast that covers different Cults, murder cases, and pretty much any macabre history. I try and keep it light, and humorous, which sounds contradictory, but it’s somehow worked! I’ve produced an episode every single week since it’s inception and am mostly proud of my dedication. On several occasions, it’s placed on the iTunes top charts which is always so exciting. In April 2019 I launched the Cult Liter Merch line, and it completely sold out within 48 hours, I realized it’s gotten much bigger than I thought!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t necessarily think luck has had much to do with it, I believe in hard work, dedication, and above all manifesting.
