Meet Sophie St. John

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophie St. John.

Sophie St. John

Hi Sophie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Music has always been home to me. In a world that moves so fast, singing was, and still is, the one thing that makes everything feel still for me. Growing up, I knew this was what I was going to pursue because it made me feel incredible, but as I got older, I realized the impact having a voice has in this world. Then I understood that this was so much bigger than me. Every day has been a mission to heal and inspire others through my experiences. Whether I’m putting my latest lesson in a song, singing on stage, or helping others with their creative journey, I know I’m in the right place.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When I was younger, I used to think that I was struggling and life was so hard, and now I look back at my life and have such a deep appreciation for every moment where I had to push harder. We’re naturally hard on ourselves when things don’t go our way in the moment, but then when we look back, we understand why that didn’t serve us at that time. When I started remembering that in those moments, life never felt smoother.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a recording artist and songwriter. I dropped an EP in 2021 and am currently a catalogue for my first album. My proudest accomplishment thus far is someone telling me I saved their life when they heard my song Feeling Hope. I truly believe that Something much bigger than myself comes out in the music I create, and all I do is dig deeper so I connect with That.

How do you think about happiness?
Seeing others happy makes me the happiest, my family most of all! Life can easily get us down, and we can be the hardest on ourselves. That’s why I’m so fulfilled when I see moments of joy.
