Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophia Vantuno.
Hi Sophia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was raised in Sydney, Australia.
I’ve always been a creative at heart. From a young age i enjoyed being in front and behind the camera. My friends and i would spend hours running around the beaches of Sydney, dressing up and taking silly photos for fun. My older sister, Tash, was also passionate about fashion and photography. She took photos of me all the time and helped me start my own instagram as well as a blog. Watching her successful as an entrepreneur and industry leader has always been a huge source of inspiration for me.
As my platforms started to grow I landed my first magazine feature in Girlfriend magazine, followed by features in Harper’s Bazaar and Dolly! Dolly even organised a full photoshoot with me at Bondi Beach, where i grew up. That day was a defining moment for me and truly sparked a fire to pursue this path.
My dad is american and I was born in Miami so I am fortunate to be a citizen – it was always my goal to go to college in the US. My sister and I somehow convince our mum to let me move to Los Angeles at just 15 where my sister was living at the time. It was the best decision i ever made. I finished high school in the Pacific Palisades and went to college in Santa Barbora, balancing studies with part-time customer service jobs while continuing to build my online presence because thats what i really enjoyed the most. Slowly but surely, opportunities started to come my way!
Today I am living back in LA as a content creator – a dream come true. I’ve faced setback along the way, but i’ve been incredibly lucky to have the support of my family who have coached and encouraged me through every chapter. I’m a hard worker with big aspirations and i know this is only the beginning.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Growing up in Sydney, i faced a lot of skepticism and bullying for pursuing something different which made me doubt myself. Moving to the US was a turning point. I found incredible support, but i also had to learn to navigate who was truly genuine. Big cities can feel lonely but finding the right people makes all the difference. i believe being kind and staying true to your values attracts the right people with time and thats what makes the journey so rewarding.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What do you do:
I am a full time content creator based in LA, working as a model and influencer. I specialise in fashion, travel, and lifestyle content.
What are you most proud of:
A lot of people assume content creation is just about travelling and taking a few photos but its a full time business. I manage 99% of my contracts myself, juggle multiple clients at once, network constantly, fulfil modelling jobs, and continuing to create content for my audience and for brands. Most days it feels like i’m running a million full time jobs at the same time but i LOVE it. I’ve always been obsessed with working hard, and i’m proud of the dedications, long hours, and behind the scene efforts that go into everything, even if it’s not always visible from the outside.
What sets you apart:
I have a genuine connection with my audience. i started my platform at a very young age and over the years, my audience has grown up with me. They’ve seen every stage of my life – from early days experimenting with the worst outfits in high school, or the silly bangs that i cut when i was 17, to now. its a history that has built a real sense of trust and authenticity.
