Meet Solace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Solace.

Solace, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Well, I guess we get straight to the point lol. My life story which I refer to as my wisdom walk as every step I take, I learn something begins in Boston, MA. My career was based on customer service and hospitality. Which Boston is a well-known and known talked about city as “everybody knows your name” if you are familiar with that song believe it or not it’s true! However, I have lived there pretty much my whole life and lived what I thought what a life until I decided to be an adult take a trip. I am what people refer to as a staycation victim meaning I moved here after only being here for three days. I am here now and boy has Vegas been an adventure!!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being from Boston, MA even though it is a city, there is a certain criteria you may have to meet in many careers or opportunities. It is very uniformed and conservative unless you know the right people and sometimes it may take a lifetime depending on what dreams you are trying to follow. Boston is also known to be a racist city which I always say I have experienced more racism on the west coast, well Vegas Really. In addition to that being Jamaican and Panamanian, lesbian and smart ohh there is always a challenge.

Nonetheless, that’s what the wisdom walk is all about. One of my quotes are “Never agreed to what eye was taught makes me a rebel, guess that just means eye am on another level”. While in school, I always questioned the teacher about the curriculum. I was even ejected from Sunday school because I asked a question that the sister (nun) could not answer. Struggles yes, challenges yes, am I learning yes that’s all that matters. To answer your question, lol no it has not been a smooth road but always run to repave the pavement.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My show is every Friday at 4pm PST, 7pm on the East on Hot7025fm.com; we are a Vegas-based Radio Station! We have been on air for two years and have 1.75 million documented listeners worldwide. We are also on FB, Twitter, Mixlr we are 24/7 365. The name of my show is Seeking Solace which is a show based on just that. As I stated earlier, I use what I learn amongst my wisdom walk and share it with whom we call “Solace Soci3ty citizens”. Speaking on spiritual awakening and motivation without judgment. You do not have to be celebrity to be on my show but you must be authentic and add value to yourself and others. The many guests that eye have had on my show have always come back and are constant supporters. Motivators need motivation too and together, we can make it thru!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
What I advocate for the most is unity in the community and to deter the youth with the truth all while assembling and ascending. As we grow as adults, yes we are responsible due to what needs to be done. We must remember we cannot do it all alone this adulting thing is now easy if I had a chose I would give it back just for a few days. Then I remember the blisters I have accumulated in result of my wisdom walk I am reminded why I am here in the first place! Honestly, I just want to grow as my goal is to reach one soul. Have a seminar or two connect with great people and listen to myself more. It’s insanity how much I help people and still struggle thru my own demons but I have been listening to my material lately and well, I be damned lol. I am pretty good, you guys should check me out. My closest kin says I am too humble but what does that even mean??
