Today we’d like to introduce you to Sogol Sinaeifar.
Sogol, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started getting familiar with property management 12 years ago with my first cousin Mikey Dardashti. He and I actually worked together for years! His company was for commercial and residential long-term leases. I helped run the company with Mikey, leasing and managing the properties he had. I would also be collecting payments and creating background checks on the tenants as well as helping advertise.
He had another business out in Israel, so he would travel most months out of the year and that’s when I mostly took over in helping and growing with the company. With him traveling so much he would come up to me often and we would talk about how staying in hotels gets old after a while. That sometimes you just want to feel more at home!
That idea grew to something bigger in 2008 when Mikey opened a short-term rentals business in LA. At that point I took my prior knowledge from his long-term rentals business and applied it to working with short term rentals for housing. It was a completely new and different experience and we spent a lot of time researching with Airbnb. It took a lot of trial and error as well for us to really get the hang of how we should be running the business and how we can make it work more efficiently.
On June 6, 2016 is when I opened my corporation and I started off with a beautiful home in Woodland Hills, CA. Through experience, renting houses can be very expensive, especially for guests. I wanted to make it more affordable for my customers, so I switched to apartment units. My kids helped me realize that there are just certain amenities a family needs to have such as entertainment for the family (TV, Wi-Fi, cable) and that we all need a comfortable, spacious, place to relax in. I make sure to always put myself in my guest’s shoes to see what would be the best for everyone and also ask myself “what if I was staying here, what would make me and my family feel most at home?”.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Throughout time, I began to think about my own short-term rental company and within my culture it is unheard of to have a woman be the head of a business. It was a huge deal for me and my family to be involved with this sort of idea. With the support of my loving husband, Keyvan, he pushed me above and beyond to pursue the thought and he helped me turn it into a reality. I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for his love and support!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Best Global Vacation Rentals – what should we know?
As of today, Best Global Vacation Rentals, also known as Best LA Short Rentals, is now my privately-owned business focusing on short term apartment rentals! People locally and people from all over the world come to stay at my properties to as little as one night or even up to a few weeks or more! Whether their house is under renovation, they are on a business trip or they simply need a place to stay, I offer quality service to all my guests. By having top of the line staff members, warm hospitality and advertising my business through Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb and my website, I have gained clientele from all over the United States!
My journey in learning and growing with not only my own business but with Mikey’s as well has been an amazing experience and I strive to improve my company more and more each day. We are in the middle of some major and exciting changes within the units to improve the look quality and feel of all our apartments! As we expand, I still plan to keep my units affordable for guests and to make every detail for my customers matter. I am very honored to be able to make this vision come true and I can’t wait to share it with you all, this coming year!
