Meet Skylar Tourigny of Decadence

Today we’d like to introduce you to Skylar Tourigny.

Hi Skylar, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always loved having my own business and being a Girlboss. I quickly realized during my internship in college that working for a corporation was not for me. I like being creative and bringing my vision and passion to life. I am a serial entrepreneur currently serving as creator and owner of Decadence, a bar and restaurant providing inspired California-Asian food in Hermosa Beach, California.

Born and raised in Vietnam, I was deeply influenced by my childhood memories of daily trips to the market with my mother to purchase fresh seafood and produce for our homemade nightly dinners. It was during this time that I took to baking and developed my love for chocolate and sweets, maintaining an “ingredients first” guiding mentality. In 2009, I married my passion for food and style by opening a designer shoe and chocolate store in downtown Manhattan Beach, sweetly named Elleni Couture, after my daughter. Following the success of Elleni Couture, I opened my first restaurant, Marine Street Café, in Manhattan Beach in 2012. Still, my tenacious entrepreneurial spirit led me to want to achieve even more – and thus my crowning achievement, Decadence, launched in 2019 Almost two years in the making, Decadence Bar and Restaurant represents an extremely personal project for me. Armed at an early age with a true appreciation for the quality of fresh ingredients, I painstakingly ensure that Decadence lives up to my personal standards with both the seasonal menu and the setting in which the food is served. I wanted to create a place where people can come and hang out.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Prior to the pandemic, Decadence was a place to be and be seen. We are very thankful we have extremely loyal clienteles. All of whom are locals which became our Decadence family.

Decadence is located in the heart of downtown Hermosa Beach. The cuisine is exquisite and compelling. We strive to create a menu that supports health and pleasure, using the finest and freshest ingredients selected by our chef. Indulgences continue with our crafted mixed drinks, boutique wines and beers. You will not find ordinary cocktails here, but instead you will get premium artisanal spirits, organic fruits and juices that create classic and imaginative cocktails.
