Meet Sienna Scott of WatsonScott in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sienna Scott.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sienna. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My career started in fashion. I have always been attracted to beauty, the obscure, the unusual, and aesthetics. So, when I landed a part time position with the luxury retailer, Resurrection Vintage I had found home. Home was where I was for 10 years. Inside this company that is small in square footage but massive in reputation, I had the privilege to learn, experience and work with some of fashions most historical and culturally important designer pieces which included Yves Saint Laurent from beginning to present, Vivienne Westwood’s first collections circa 1976, 77 & 78, couture runway pieces by Gianni Versace and stage costumes from the likes of Sly Stone complete with bullets in the pocket. My value around beauty was operating on all 8 cylinders which fueled me to stay with this company for many years and over time wore many hats and eventually moved into bigger more exciting rolls along the way. My final positions were retail sales director and senior buyer. It was these final roles that lead me to explore and start the road towards where I am now as a Leadership & Development Coach.

“Say what?” How does being a buyer and sales director segue into coaching you might ask. Let me explain, not only do I have a value around beauty, I also deeply value leadership and collaboration and in my role as sales director, I was given the responsibility of training, guiding and empowering my teams on both west and east coasts. This is where I really felt like I was contributing and felt [I] had real value. When I was in the position to give guidance, and pull the best parts of each individual out, they were more successful in their work, they were more confident and they were more creative in and out their work life. THIS was what I loved doing…

It was at this point I decided to get formal training and become certified as a professional coach. In 2015, I made the choice to act in a bigger way in my pursuit of bringing the best parts of people out into the world and started my coaching and consulting company WatsonScott.

I work with individuals, teams and companies and my mission is to help them grow, create with intention and bring the best parts of who they are out into the world.

Has it been a smooth road?
A Smooth road? I wish I knew where they were, because I would definitely drive an extra 20 mins out of the way to take them. One of my struggles have been navigating the social media landscape. Self-promotion is a bit of a curve ball for me!

Also, educating people on what coaching is. Coaching is a profession where there are a lot of question marks when speaking about it. What I mean by this, is most people haven’t heard of coaching or if they have, they are not quite sure what exactly it is or the benefits and life-changing effects having a coach can create. And like all small businesses, making sure I stay on message and marketing my coaching in a way that is consistent and authentic. It’s a fine line, no one wants to be sold to when it comes to awareness, inner values, achievements and creating more fulfillment and purpose and nor do I want to sell it, I want to help discover and create it!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I’m passionate about developing leaders and teams towards personal and interpersonal growth, by building confidence (which I believe supports creativity), awareness of values, self-worth, and direction so that they can intentionally create the desired impact in their life, their relationships and the world.

The relationship I create with my clients is one that is collaborative. I help them focus, provide direction, push them past their comfort zones, motivate and empower.

I use coaching skills that include observing, listening, asking questions for the purpose of the client’s deeper self-awareness, and championing them.

. My coaching work is to guide my clients in achieving their goals, desires and step into a life that has more meaning and fulfillment. I believe everyone is enough & through specific coaching strategies and skills, I will help clients define who they want to be and create with intention and fulfillment. I do not judge, give advice or give my opinion.

The consulting I do is rooted with the above philosophy and I bring the same curiosity as I do in my coaching. I get to know all the players within a business, understand the companies mission and culture or lack thereof and help design the path forward.
