Meet Shelley Starr of Shelley Starr Interior Design in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelley Starr.

Shelley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started in furniture product design 22 years ago. I gradually moved into Interior design as my passion for home interiors grew. I found that my skill, ability and connections to design and produce furniture came in very handy with my sizable projects. I always lean toward finding and designing pieces that crate a narrative within my projects. Today my firm handles projects in Europe, Caribbean, New York and all of So. California.

Our clients are incredibly successful people with a discerning eye for quality and excellence. I have built my career on giving my client everything they want, only better.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Building a business is never a smooth road. It is full of rejection, disappointments, incredibly long hours, frustration and 1000’s of decisions that must be made almost daily.

However, when a project comes to an end and I can look back at the beginning of a project and see the perfection of what we created for the client and most importantly my clients’ happiness… it is all worth it!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Shelley Starr Interior Design – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Shelley Starr Interior Design is a full design, build firm. We work on large scale remodels to brand new construction. We specialize in high end residential, we do not follow the trends, rather beauty, simplicity, and quality. I am known for my quality, integrity, consistency in delivery and performance …and my level of commitment to each and every project.

At this stage in my career my body of work speaks for itself and this is all I need for validation.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I don’t like to focus too much on the future. I am incredibly happy here and now. The beauty of having a fulfilling career and being older… is that we know and understand the meaning of being present.

Big changes, I am getting married this coming September in Portofino, Italy to the love of my life. I have the most incredible daughter and a gigantic English White Retriever that keeps us all very busy! I am the happiest and most fulfilled I have ever been.
