Meet Shaune Cohen of C3 Coaching Strategies

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaune Cohen.

Hi Shaune, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my entrepreneurial career at age ten, selling newspapers and shoveling snow on the East Coast. By the time I was 14, I had convinced the owner of the local corner store to hire me as an independent contractor selling and packaging candy bags, sodas and hoagies for the local assisted living patients. By the time I attended college, I started my first nonprofit organization geared at mentoring middle school children.

Currently, I am the CEO and Co-Founder of C3 Coaching Strategies. Originally from the Philadelphia area, I have always been passionate about helping others grow for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was a sponge. I wanted to know the reason why to everything. I spent as much time as I could around adults absorbing as much knowledge as I could so I could leverage that knowledge and create my own path and then share it with others. Everything that I learned and experienced ultimately brought me to where I am today.

I originally started my consulting business to provide services to local individuals looking to start a business and for people wanting to repair their credit so they could purchase a forever home. Since that time, my business has evolved. I am now an international speaker, national workshop presenter and author. I provide services in all 50 states. My services encompass mentoring small business owners through 1 on 1 coaching and teaching youth the financial literacy skills they aren’t taught in school.

My services encompass mentoring small business owners through 1:1 coaching and teaching youth the financial literacy skills they aren’t taught in school.  Ultimately, I want to inspire youth. That’s what inspired me to write Dollars and Cent$: A Parent’s Guide To Raising Financially Literate Kids. One of the foundational aspects of the book is to teach kids the fundamental principles of money management, from saving, budgeting, investing and giving back.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I was once told, “The road to success is always under construction!” Just like a construction zone, my journey has had delays, setbacks and the need to reconfigure and redesign blueprints sometimes as a result of my miscalculations or simply nature herself.

The main struggles I faced (and still do) are balancing my health and creating a work-life balance. I have learned to put my health over my work and to put my confidence in my purpose rather than my accomplishments. Like most of my clients, I’ve learned some valuable lessons from the school of hard knocks. My goal is to help them overstep unnecessary obstacles and missteps.

I have learned firsthand that life happens and either we make adjustments and adapt or we will become like the person swimming against the riptide. We will waste a lot of energy and soon it will overtake us.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about C3 Coaching Strategies?

We empower and educate our clients by helping them achieve their goals through a range of coaching techniques and strategies customized for their individual business.

Our holistic approach is centered around transforming our client’s mindsets to succeed and overcome challenges. Our ideal client is the person or business struggling to get to the next level. There are numerous financial education and business coaches available. However, what makes C3 Coaching Strategies stand out is our personal commitment to see the individual evolve, not just the business. We truly believe in helping people tap into their full potential and turn their dreams into reality. What sets C3 Coaching Strategies apart is our commitment to mentorship.

Innocent financial decisions can have long-term implications that can impact an individual’s life plans and cost businesses money. That’s why the C3 Coaching Strategies brand is dedicated to mentoring youth financially and empowering individuals to thrive in the world of entrepreneurship and personal finance. Through our coaching programs and workshops, we equip our clients and mentees with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the complexities of business and money management.

I am proud to be the CEO of an organization that plays a pivotal role in shaping the success of aspiring entrepreneurs and financially responsible individuals. Our passion to guide and inspire the next generation is demonstrated by serving as role models and providing invaluable support and guidance, especially to marginalized youth. C3 Coaching Strategies focus on business coaching, financial education, and youth mentoring, fuels our passion for empowering the leaders of tomorrow.

Through our youth mentorship program, we have realized the disparity in the number of marginalized youth who have positive financial role models or people to teach them about money. If children don’t have the opportunity learn good finical behaviors, they may fall into the common financial traps many people experience as adults. Therefore, we are currently working on expanding our Dollar Scholars Mentorship program which teaches youth about budgeting, saving, and investing. The financial information provided to children from low and moderate-income households has the potential to create generational wealth and end the cycle of poverty. We are working on partnering with community organizations in marginalized locations to provide the knowledge and resources children need to develop sound financial habits and understanding.

The most rewarding aspect of our brand is witnessing the transformative impact we have on the lives of individuals and the maturation process of our entrepreneurs and business owners. Seeing them gain confidence, develop a strong business acumen, and make informed financial decisions is truly gratifying. We are taking part in building a community of ambitious, financially literate, and socially responsible individuals and entrepreneurs who are poised to make a positive impact on the world.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I firmly believe that success is never achieved alone, and I am fortunate to have had a remarkable network of mentors, supporters, cheerleaders, advocates, clients, and teammates who have played a significant role in the success of my business. Their contributions and support have been invaluable throughout this journey.

First and foremost, I owe a debt of gratitude to my spouse and my parents. They have believed in me and my vision from the very beginning, providing the motivation and confidence necessary to overcome obstacles. Whether through words of encouragement, financial backing, or simply being a listening ear, they have been instrumental in keeping my spirits high and pushing me forward.

I am also deeply grateful for the unwavering support and encouragement of my mentors (too many to name), who have selflessly shared their wisdom and expertise. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping my business coaching and financial education approach, allowing me to refine my strategies and broaden my perspective. Their willingness to share their experiences and offer constructive feedback has been a constant source of inspiration and growth.

Additionally, my advocates have played a pivotal role in spreading the word about my business and bringing in new opportunities. Their belief in my capabilities and dedication to promoting my services have expanded my reach and allowed me to connect with a wider audience. Their trust and endorsement have been crucial in establishing credibility and building a strong reputation.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of my clients and teammates. Their trust in my expertise and commitment to our shared goals have been the driving force behind our success. Collaborating with talented individuals who share a common vision has not only enhanced the quality of our services but has also fostered a sense of camaraderie and synergy within the team.

I am deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to the success of my business. Their guidance, support, and belief in my abilities have played an integral role in shaping both my personal and professional growth. I am truly fortunate to have such a remarkable network of individuals who have invested their time, energy, and resources in my journey, and I am committed to paying their support forward by continuing to make a positive impact through my business coaching and financial education endeavors.
