Meet Sharon Arouchanov of Simply Glamorous Events in Glendale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon Arouchanov.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my event planning career after I graduated college back in 2007 working at the Ritz Carlton in Pasadena (now the Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa) as part of the weddings and special events team. I left the Ritz to join Corporate America and did Marketing for The Walt Disney Company for 8 years but always had a deep passion for planning, events and weddings and periodically did it on the side. After planning my own wedding in 2012, I realized how much I loved it and decided to dive back into the event planning + coordination business and freelanced with a few popular and well-established event planning companies until I decided to launch my own back in 2014. My 1st event as Simply Glamorous Events was for Young and the Restless Soap Opera actress Kate Linder and I have been planning weddings, birthdays and events ever since and have loved every minute of it! It is truly what I am meant to do and as they say, “If you do what you love, you don’t have to work a day in your life!”

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Since I was still working full time at Disney and doing the events on the side, the main struggle/challenge was juggling and managing all my important events with my day job but thankfully, my clients were well aware and very understanding. Luckily, I quit my Disney job in 2017 and am now planning events full time.

Simply Glamorous Events – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Simply Glamorous Events is a full-service design and event planning company. We specialize in bringing our clients visions to fruition and being their right hand during the entire planning process – be it their wedding day, a 1st birthday or a small cocktail party. My motto in life is to treat others as I want to be treated and that’s exactly how I treat their events like it is my own.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Honestly, my proudest moments are seeing the smiles on my clients face when they see their event come to life and when they tell me how happy they are that they chose me to be part of their event – it’s the best feeling!
