Today we’d like to introduce you to Shane Steel.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started doing photography in high school as part of my high school newspaper. When I went to college, I joined the paper there as well. One of my last assignments was to take pictures of President Barack Obama when he came to Indianapolis for a speech. I feel like that’s what inspired mw to peruse photography. I moved to Los Angeles to be surrounded by fellow creative. I’ve had the pleasure of working as an assistant to Aaron Young on a number of cool projects(Dragon, Adam Rippon, Out Magazine. As a solo photographer, I’ve gotten to work with models, actors, DJ’s and all other types of LA creative. My goal is to outdo myself every time I am behind the camera.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Smooth road was literally the opposite of my experience in LA. When I first moved to California I honestly had never been to the state whatsoever. It was a leap of faith. I moved nine times in the past 2.5 years, I had five different jobs. But all of the turmoil has produced amazing ideas and has only made me stronger.
Please tell us about Steeltography.
Steeltography (a mesh of last name and photography is a multimedia brand that specializes in Photography and Videography. Currently, we have a presence on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. I am most proud of the products that we produce and the smiles we get to put on peoples faces!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I can say without a doubt, I would not have changed anything that I did. Every experience, every success, every failure has led me to where I am today. As long as you take the experience as lessons, you always succeed!
