Meet Shadi Halavi Shaolian of SHS Law in Sherman Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shadi Halavi Shaolian.

Shadi, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I got into tax resolution a little bit after I passed the bar and was introduced to it by a colleague of mine. I was hired on as a new associate with tax resolution and was given quite a bit of onsite training as well as my fair share of cases. I really fell in love with tax resolution there and there hasn’t been a case yet to change how I feel. There is nothing like taking the weight of debt off of someone’s shoulders forever. I left tax resolution and am on my own now and added bankruptcy so that I can also discharge tax debt when it’s appropriate and best for the client.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have to say that the hardest part would have to be owning my own business. It feels like having three jobs all at once but I’m getting there. I know in the end it allows me to do what I love so I can’t complain.

Please tell us about SHS Law.
I specialize in debt reduction and a good 90 percent of my company focuses on tax debt reduction. Depending on a client’s assets, income and expenses, I am able to reduce the amount a person owes sometimes to as much as 98%. I take pride in taking care of my clients and getting them the best resolution legally possible for them. What sets me apart from the others has to be the amount of time and energy I put into my clients. This is not and will never be a mill firm. We are very hands on and make sure we have all the information we need to get the best settlement for our clients.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I can’t say I’d do anything differently as all of my experiences have gotten me to where I am now.
