Today we’d like to introduce you to Seita Hill.
Seita, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
This is kind of a funny story, 6 years ago, my original business was an online jewelry boutique. I thought I had an original idea to do this. Make a million dollars and quit my day job. Nope, that was not the case, I sold 3 – 4 pieces of the jewelry that I invested close to $1500 in and still have stored away. Turns out I’m not the best saleswoman.
I’ve always been hands-on, a creator, I watched a woman on YouTube take a hard dark yellow chunk of shea butter and turn it into a beautiful whipped white frosting like body butter. I knew I had to try it. And I did, and I LOVED it, but it wasn’t enough… I said there has to be more… So I dove into research of how to make lotion… And 6 years later here I am even more passionate about it as I was the day I created my first natural handmade body lotion.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not at all, in the beginning, it was stressful. I wanted to give up every other day. I self-doubted myself a lot. Thinking my products weren’t good enough, thinking no one would be interested in something I was doing. Wondering if I was wasting time and money. All of the trial and errors, could this be a business and since I’ve never run a business am I capable of doing this. I had every negative thought in the world but Lots of prayers and the love and art of it kept me going.
I wouldn’t change anything or any feelings that I felt in the beginning because it helped me realize my strength and perseverance.

My company Milk and Melts is a handmade natural bath and body product business. I hand make moisturizing lotions, creams and body butter that have great quality oils, butter, coconut milk and mesmerizing fragrances, a variety of soap bars from scratch that I incorporate fruits, veggies, herbs and more, body scrubs, body oils, yoni steams (ask me about that later). And so much more. I’m known for my lotions and the way they soak into the skin and yummy scents. My lotions will make the most ashiest person glow and feel soft and moisturized. There are a few proud moments I often have but the most proudest is when I get a return customer, something about that gives me joy, confirmation and ammunition.
What were you like growing up?
Super duper introvert, super homebody, my friends describe my personality as quirky. I am a jokester and love to play video games during my downtime or to unwind. Since birthing this company, I’ve had to learn to loosen the ropes a little and get out there and shine. I’ve met some of the most inspiring entrepreneurs, my network has grown so big beautifully, it’s amazing.
