Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Nozaki.
Sean, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I came to the U.S in 1999 from Japan and went through English school and UCLA Ext. After finishing the UCLA Ext, I worked at an English school in LA. In 2008, I bought one of English school (Mentor Language Institute) in Beverly Hills and opened another campus in Hollywood in 2012. I also opened English school in Tokyo and Osaka (Japan) in 2013, I also bought out another English school (Central Pacific College) in Hawaii in 2016. Currently, I’m the CEO of the company.
Has it been a smooth road?
I started with the partnership and struggled how I can make the ideal school which I believe. Also, it was a challenge to recruit more students to our schools, because there is high competition in LA. As we accommodate International students, there are many immigration regulation, and keep the school quality and system up to the government standard.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Mentor Language Institute – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our company/ school is providing English Program to International students. Our school is accredited by ACCET (Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training), approved by BPPE (Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education) and authorized to issue the documents called I-20s in order for international students to obtain their student visas from U.S. embassy. We provide good English Program with affordable tuition and have our campus in very convenient and popular location.
We also worked with many local College and special agreement for our students can get enrollment as long as the students finish our English program without having TOEFL scores.
We are very well known in this market as one of good English schools and provide high quality program as well as other support services such as Student housing.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like that LA has many good and interesting shops and restaurants as well as people from a lot of countries. The weather is very comfortable to live and has many beautiful beaches.
