Meet Scott Waldman of Waldman Management in Westside Village

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Waldman.

Scott, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I graduated from The University of Michigan with a B.A. in English in 2003. I moved to Los Angeles shortly after graduation and joined a band called: The City Drive. We signed with Sony/We The People Records in 2004 and released an LP in 2006. I quit the band in 2007, started two others, and worked at a law firm for five years. I started Waldman Management accidentally in 2015 and haven’t looked back.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If your road is smooth, you’re doing it wrong. Without getting into too many specifics, artist management is a constantly evolving experience. I’ve made many mistakes, but I’m learning a lot every day.

Please tell us about Waldman Management.
I manage several artists and bands under my own umbrella, Waldman Management. In addition, I am a managing partner at Rolling Artists, a full-service producer management company in Los Angeles and New York. I have a radio show on idobi called, “Waldman’s Words” and I interview industry people once a week. I also am Senior A&R at Legend Recordings and my first band will be announced soon.

I am very proud that some of my artists are building sustainable careers in an “impossible” industry… you tell me what sets me apart!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My aunt took me to Wrestlemania Ten for my Bar Mitzvah gift.
