Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Scott Lee.
Dr. Scott S. Lee came to America to pursue his dream of becoming a veterinarian. To him, becoming a veterinarian was part of a family tradition as his grandfather was a pioneer in veterinary medicine in his home country, Korea. As a small child, he remembers being taken to a zoo where his grandfather showed him how to assist a zebra giving birth. At that moment, he knew in his heart he was destined to help animals. Following his grandfather’s footsteps, Dr. lee was determined to embark on this veterinary journey. He went to high school and college here in the LA area. Soon after he decided to go back to Korea to start his veterinary education. He completed his veterinary doctoral degree at GyeongSang National University in 2008. Upon completing his doctoral degree as a veterinarian, his passion in the field led him to extend his education and career in one particular area of small animal veterinary practice, small animal surgery. After two years of meticulous studying and rigorous surgical training, Dr. Lee then transferred to Oregon State University. Upon completing his education and rigorous training, Dr. Lee began working in several practices and eventually decided to open his very own practice here in Norwalk – AM PM IDEAL PET CARE.
Has it been a smooth road?
As prepared as one thinks they are, there are always small hiccups along the way. From securing the right location, equipment, team and clientele, it was definitely a roller coaster ride. But it all comes down to finding a purpose, and if you follow your passion you find your purpose and everything will fall into place.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with AM PM Ideal Pet Care – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
AM PM Ideal Pet Care is a full-service veterinary hospital dedicated to serving the community and providing low-cost medical care to animals in need. Our mission is to do our best to provide quality care at an ideal price. With the cost of veterinary care today increasing, our goal is to help pet parents have happy and healthy pets by working alongside with rescue organizations and other animal help groups in the community. We have state of the art veterinary equipment and provide a wide variety of services for some of the most reasonable pricing in the area. Our clinic is made up of kind and compassionate doctors, exceptional veterinary assistants and technicians and our amazing front office team welcome each client and patients as if they were an extension of our family.
While we participate in many programs to assist with low cost and free spay/neuter services, we also offer ultrasound, digital x-rays, dentistry, in house and reference lab services, soft tissue surgery and orthopedic surgery at very low prices. We are proud to serve the city of Norwalk and surrounding areas by having our doors open seven days a week with late evening hours. We do not schedule appointments for exams so that pet owners can walk in and get help the same day they seek it. Our convenient evening hours welcome everyone without any after hour or emergency fees which we feel is very important as many families today need a veterinary clinic that provides convenient business hours without costing extra to do so.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The city of Norwalk and its surrounding cities are full of diversity and such wonderful community involvement. As a new business here, we had no idea how friendly and supportive our neighboring businesses would be. We were warmly welcomed and soon after recommended and referred. Local businesses really support and help each other. We had the amazing privilege and honor to collaborate with schools such as Platt College to take their Veterinary Technology students for internships as well as the Norwalk – La Mirada School Unified School District whom also entrusted us with their high school students from the Future Ready Internship Program. Through these collaborations we are able to nurture today’s youth with the experience of what a career in the animal field is like. The students were such fun and their eagerness to learn was a most rewarding experience and it is amazing that our city encourages programs like these.
