Scott, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The company was founded in 2009 by entrepreneur and philanthropist Sanela Diana Jenkins to provide a healthy functional beverage alternative to consumers desiring an alternative to the high sugar and caloric beverages available to them. Neuro distribution grew across the United States through a distribution network and is now broadly distributed in the grocery, mass, and convenience channels.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
All of our products are innovative and provide functional benefits such as energy and sleep enhancement in a “better for you” formulation that is unparalleled in the marketplace. Therefore, they all required a significant investment in time, ingredient exploration, formulation, marketing investment and capital.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Neuro Drinks story. Tell us more about the business.
We offer seven different Neuro Drinks that deliver relatively immediate benefits, All of our drinks are gluten free, vegan, lactose free, and infused with fruit extracts and deliver great taste with only 35 calories. For instance, Neuro Sleep combines the benefits of melatonin, the body’s own sleep inducing hormone, with amino acids that aid in relaxation, plus extracts of acai, blueberry, and pomegranate. Neuro Bliss is a lightly carbonated beverage that combines the optimal dose of L-Theanine from green tea for stress reduction with other neural focused nutrients including vitamin D, chamomile, and alpha GPc, a natural compound found in the brain. Neuro Sonic is a proprietary blend of caffeine and green tea extract which increases alertness and focus while sustaining energy and attention throughout the day. Neuro Trim helps control hunger through a formulation that contains fiber and prebiotics supporting a healthy digestive system. Neuro Daily helps strengthen the body’s natural defenses with antioxidant protection from selenium, zinc, vitamins D and C. Neuro GASM promotes “playful energy, drive, and stamina.” Finally, Neuro Aqua is pure spring water with added limestone minerals, magnesium, and calcium.
