Today we’d like to introduce you to Saul Losada.
Saul, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The journey started out in my childhood when I got my first encounter with the music at home where time to time I was exposed to classical music which was played on the radio by my parents. Later on, I discovered a record collection at home and had my first encounter with rock and roll music listening albums of Elvis Presley, The Beatles and Little Richard, Les Paul and Bob Dylan.
As a teenager, I got interested on the guitar so I managed to borrow one from a friend of mine It was acoustic Spanish type of guitar that I used right the way to learn music from the albums. I already was deeply interested in Blues Music since I first heard BB King, Alert King, Muddy Waters and SRV. After a while of listening I had the chance to get into Jimi Hendrix music with the album Are You Experienced? Which expand my music view for ever and decided to learn as much as I can from his music. At the same time, I came across with Led Zeppelin IV album that also did a great impact on my knowledge of music.
I started join different bands starting to play gigs all over the place after a while I got the chance to get into a recording session with one of the bands which led me to do some other studio work and have to play with Fusion musicians. They got me into Jeff Beck music which until this day still my biggest influences.
Time went by so I decided to pack my guitar and find my own music voice. Living for a short time on Florida after a quick stay on UK. then I decided move from east to west coast which drove me of course to Hollywood. My journey in here started out by visiting massive record stores that help me out to innovate my sound spanning all the music genres at the same time I started playing on some jam session around town as well as having gigs on venues around LA. Just about after a year doing that I met Dan Black from Blanck Records who saw me playing and offered me to make an album on my name. So we did it and we called the album “Energy” produced and engineered by Dan Black on his Hollywood studios which would be my first solo. Since then on I’ve been establish myself in here and called it home.
Hollywood is the place that gave me the strength and knowledge to get me through the real music journey. I have to say that this place is the real deal.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I will say it hasn’t been smooth at the same time its been a process of learning and understanding the music industry as his professional level making me better and strong on the proses. the biggest challenge would be getting into the business side of the music which has to be do done by someone that trust you and like what are you doing and for sure has to know the industry good in of to get you on the right track.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My business is music by playing guitar live where I enjoy the most or in recording sessions.
I’m very proud of my album “Energy” and My band they are amazing player.
I would say that hard work by improving myself and try to get better every day.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Always innovating would be the most important characteristic for the success.
