Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Bibiyan.
Hi Sarah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Rise Up Pilates right out of my home during the pandemic—just me, a reformer, and a whole lot of heart. It was a bold move, but I knew I wanted to create something personal and powerful. What began as a small, referral-only studio in Encino quickly blossomed into a vibrant community of strong, supportive humans.
Honestly, I just knew I was going to own a Pilates studio the moment I decided to become an instructor. I prayed super hard to figure out what my true passion was, and once I had that clarity, everything just clicked.
Watching this space grow has been the biggest blessing. It’s been an absolute honor to cultivate a healthy, positive work environment filled with the most talented instructors and kindest staff. The energy here is something special—we lift each other up every day.
And now, we’re turning up the heat—literally! This summer, we’re opening our heated mat studio, and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s the next step in creating a space where people can rise, sweat, and thrive together. We invite everyone to the new Rise Up Studios!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business during a global pandemic? Definitely not the easy route. Building Rise Up Studios from scratch came with a lot of late nights, self-doubt, and learning on the fly. I wore all the hats—owner, instructor, scheduler, cleaner—you name it. And like any small business, there were moments where it felt overwhelming.
Finding the right team took time, and creating a studio culture that felt aligned with my values meant saying no to quick fixes and waiting for the right people. But every challenge pushed me to grow and reminded me why I started.
Looking back, I wouldn’t trade the struggle. It shaped the studio into what it is today—a strong, grounded space full of heart.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Rise Up Studios started as a private, referral-only studio—but we’ve grown into something much more. Today, we’re proud to be open to the public and creating a space that’s all about community, connection, and movement that truly transforms.
We specialize in Dynamic Pilates, chair, tower, and—coming this summer—heated mat classes that bring the burn in the best way. Our sessions are personalized, precise, and rooted in a whole-body approach. Whether you’re new to Pilates or a seasoned pro, you’ll feel seen, challenged, and supported.
What sets us apart? The energy. This studio was built with intention and love, and you can feel it the second you walk in. Our instructors are deeply trained, passionate, and fully invested in your progress. We’re not just a place to work out—we’re a place to rise up, together.
I’m most proud of the community we’ve cultivated. Rise Up is a celebration of strength, growth, and showing up for yourself—and now, for each other too.
What does success mean to you?
For me, success isn’t measured in numbers—it’s in the energy of the room. It’s seeing clients walk out of a session taller, stronger, and more confident than when they walked in. It’s creating a space where instructors love to teach, clients feel seen, and community thrives.
Success is the vibe we’ve built at Rise Up: supportive, uplifting, and real. It’s knowing that people come here not just to move, but to grow—and that we get to be part of that journey every single day.
