Meet Sarah Berardi of Prints Charming Photo Booth in Highland Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Berardi.

Sarah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We are a husband and wife team who started our photo booth company 3 years ago. It all started when Rich was playing drums with his band for a wedding that had a photo booth. We instantly were inspired to start a company of our own. With Rich’s knack for photography and technology, my passion for vintage fashion along with our extremely outgoing personalities, we knew we could create a unique photo booth experience.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The hardest part was building the booth itself. Rich actually put the whole thing together himself, having never done it before. It involved hours upon hours of research and troubleshooting. Most other companies buy booths that come already put together, however, those package deals sacrifice quality. After it was finally up and running, it has been a pretty smooth road. We have gotten most of our business through word of mouth, and every job we do gets us another one and so on.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Our photo booth is an open-air concept where tradition meets artistic flair. Our fun brand combines creativity with cutting edge technology to capture editorial-quality pictures to commemorate the best moments of people’s lives. We also provide premium props and vintage accessories which set us apart from the rest. No cheesy “party city” type props are allowed on our table! Bottom line is that we love what we do and it shows. We love being a part of people’s special events, and it is the most fun job ever! Basically, we get to play dress up and take pictures of people having a blast, it really doesn’t get any better than that.

What were you like growing up?
We were both musicians all our lives, that is how we met actually. We played in an LA band called The Mulhollands for years, he was the drummer and I was the lead singer. After being best friends for almost 7 years, we finally started dating and got married last year. Aside from music, Rich has always been interested in photography, and I have always been interested in style and fashion, so a photo booth company just made perfect sense.
