Meet Santa Monica Personal Trainer: Danielle Carr

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Carr.

Danielle blew us away with her success in fitness and the corporate world.  She lived in New Jersey most of her life, but knew she wanted to come to LA – and she made it happen.  Through hard work and unparalleled professionalism she has begun building a formidable name for herself.  Below we’ve included an edited excerpt of our interview with her.

Danielle, please tell us about how you got started.

I always had a passion for health & fitness. This led me to competing in fitness shows, which enabled me to push my mind and body to the limit. Through networking in the fitness industry at competitions and conventions, I began acquiring clients both competitors and non-competitors. My main goal is to always create a positive environment in which clients of all fitness levels can successfully achieve health, wellness and fitness goals. In addition to personal training, I simultaneously worked for a Fortune 500 company as an Executive Assistant. Pursuing both my passions, in different industries, enhanced my organization and customer service skills.

That’s pretty amazing, but we’re sure it hasn’t been a smooth ride.  What were some of the obstacles along the way?

The main obstacle was learning how to improve my time management skills, ensuring clients schedules were met as well as being successful at my office job. Focusing on increasing my online clients, enabled me to accomplish balance in all aspects of my professional life.

Excelling in a corporate environment and bringing that level of professionalism into your fitness career – I can definitely see why that would lead to good results.  Given how ambitious you are, we’re sure you have some exciting plans for the future?

My plan for the future is to create a unique YouTube Channel, where I give daily health and wellness advice.  In addition, to getting a behind the scenes look at my day-to-day life: from training clients, preparing healthy meals, training myself for bodybuilding competitions and photo shoots and all my other activities.

I’m also in the beginning stages of learning how to become a sprinter/hurdler.  My goal is to show people that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to, no matter how silly/useless it will seem to others.  Never stop your quest for knowledge and new experiences.

Eventually my goal is to own my own personal training studio.
