Meet Samuel Green

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samuel Green.

Samuel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up, I was always a part of music. Whether it was musicals, choir or playing instruments. Originally, I was born in Kansas City; a city that is deeply rooted in jazz/blues. I remember being in elementary school during reading time we would listen to music and my teacher would always play Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and B.B. King. The music always took my mind on a trip that only music can do. Being raised in a family that has a musical background truly helped spark my love for music even more. During the holidays in my family we would always have sing offs and dance shows. My mom and I would always do one of our favorite songs and end it with something to sill that 1st place spot. Music became not only my therapy and happy place but the way I communicated. My career in the business started in Houston, TX when I auditioned for a r&b male group. The group consisted of two other guys and myself which later separated. My journey took a turn once someone heard me singing and reached out to a known producer in Houston by the name of Isaac “Chill” Yowman and the rest was history. We created some amazing music that created great buzz for my career to this day. Now living in LA as a singer/songwriter I have had many opportunities from singing for Childish Gambino a few times to being a part of a few writing teams. I recently put out a single “Lost In Lost” on June 12th from my upcoming EP. This new music I am writing majority of it myself alongside my prod. Drew Scott. I cannot wait for the world to hear what I have coming soon!! I am extremely excited!!!

Has it been a smooth road?
The road to this point in my career has most definitely had some bumps. Some that I was able to handle alone and a few I needed a shoulder. Thank God I have a team that I trust and rely on but they weren’t always there. In the beginning it was just me and I was homeless for half a year – one of the toughest times of my life. When I first moved to LA, I had a job that became really toxic to the point that I had to choose between leaving or getting harassed. When I left my job i had no income at the time which put me in a rough space especially being miles away from family.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a singer/songwriter/vocal producer. In the past couple of years, I have done a lot of songwriting for others but now it’s back to the main event “Samuel Green”. I do my homework when it comes to the business and when it comes to paying it forward to those who have come before me. Music is a form of communication and all music should be able to be translated into every situation no matter the background.

What are your plans for the future? What are you looking forward to or planning for – any big changes?
In the next two years everyone will know who Samuel Green is and by then I will be getting ready to put out my second album. As long as everything is back to somewhat normal – travel the world with my music. I would also like to tap into fashion and acting. Honestly things have already been lit with the way this single is going – the only way is up from where I am standing. This is what I was created for.
