Meet Samer Fawaz of FAWAZ FAMILY THERAPY PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samer Fawaz.

Hi Samer, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I came to therapy as a second career after spending more than two decades in the entertainment industry. On the surface, I had built a successful business that provided financial stability and recognition, but underneath, I was struggling. I often felt disconnected, anxious, and unsure of my purpose. Despite outward success, something essential was missing.

As a gay Lebanese-American man, my path to self-acceptance wasn’t easy. I had spent years trying to meet expectations—those of my family, my culture, and the industry I was in. Eventually, the gap between who I was and who I was pretending to be became too wide to ignore. That’s when I turned to therapy. It was through that process that I began to find clarity, heal old patterns, and build a life that felt more authentic.

That personal transformation led me to pursue a new path as a therapist. My years in the entertainment world taught me a lot about communication, leadership, and the complexities of identity—all of which I now bring into my work. Today, my practice is grounded in empathy and cultural sensitivity. I help clients explore who they are, move through major life transitions, and create meaningful change that feels true to them. My specialities include working with entrepreneurs, gay men, entertainment professionals and couples.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I touched on this in the last slide

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I help people turn insight into action. I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT #149147) providing therapy for individuals and couples across California — both online and in-person in Los Angeles.

My work centers on helping gay men, entrepreneurs, entertainment professionals, and couples navigate the challenges of identity, success, and connection. I specialize in helping clients break free from patterns of self-criticism, burnout, and disconnection so they can feel more grounded, purposeful, and fulfilled.

What sets my practice apart is the combination of directive, empowering therapy with deep empathy and cultural sensitivity. As a gay Lebanese-American man and former entertainment professional, I bring both lived experience and clinical expertise to my work. My approach is warm, collaborative, and focused on real, lasting change — helping clients not only understand themselves more fully but also take actionable steps toward the life they want.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that my practice is known for creating a safe, inclusive space where people can show up exactly as they are. My goal is to help every client feel seen, understood, and capable of meaningful transformation.

Any big plans?
Right now I am building my case load and getting that stabilized before any major changes
