Meet Salvi Vila Carreras

Today we’d like to introduce you to Salvi Vila Carreras.

Salvi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Catalonia “Spain” on September 2, 1988 in a little town called “La Cellera de Ter” with less than 2k people. I started Djing because my father has a lot of old vinyls, so I decided to mix them with my cassettes. I wanted to put together traditional Spanish music with electronic music. After that, I never stopped making music. In 2016 I produced “Trumpets” with my friend Sak Noel and the superstar Sean Paul, the first success of my career. Then I moved to Los Angeles because it was the best option for me. Currently, it’s going well. I’ve met a lot of professionals in the music industry. Living in Los Angeles has proven to be better than Spain. Now in 2020, the worst year for the world, I get to collaborate with Pitbull. Also, I’m a sound engineer for various artists and I produce my own music. I release my music under the label “Barnaton”. My newest project is experimenting with new sounds and fusioning different genres like Latin and electronic music.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Make a decision to turn my hobby into my career was the most difficult decision because my friends and my family didn’t think it was possible.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in music production and sound engineering. My first successful song was “Trumpets” with Sean Paul and Sak Noel. This is the song I’m most proud of. My sound is unique. Every time someone hears my songs, they know it’s mine.

What’s next?
I’m going to open a music studio production in Los Angeles.
