

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sacha Granger.
Sacha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Born and raised in Southern Louisiana, I was heavily influenced culinarily by my grandparents Helen and Normie Johnson. I baked birthday and wedding cakes in college as a way to earn extra money during my studies. When I moved to California, I worked in various industries and placed my baking on the back burner while I pursued my career. While working at a food testing lab, I was laid off and forced to find another avenue for income. I received several requests for whole cheesecakes from family and close friends.
My partner at the time suggested I find an alternative to the slice of cheesecake and challenged me to make a cheesecake cupcake. I was excited to try a different approach to the traditional slice of cheesecake. That was eight years ago, and I have been perfecting various flavors of cheesecake cupcakes ever since. Currently, we cater weddings, corporate gatherings, movie sets, birthday parties, etc. There are over 65 flavors on our menu. Some of our unique flavors are peanut butter and jelly, pineapple, pomegranate, ambrosia, and key lime. All of our desserts are baked to order and delivered throughout Los Angeles. Eventually, we would like a brick and mortar location.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Entrepreneurialism is not for the faint of heart. Many days are filled with pushing YOURSELF to achieve your goal. It can be quite difficult juggling many hats to ensure your business remains successful. The biggest hurdle is strategic marketing. There are many avenues to garner attention for your business, but consistent affordable marketing seems to be our greatest obstacle.

Cheesecake de Granger specializes in freshly prepared cheesecake cupcakes. Our customers rave over our desserts. Most of our supporters state that our dessert is evenly balanced in terms of sweetness. They describe our cheesecake cupcakes as very light and airy. We garner exceptional reviews for our signature whipped cream. We have customers that order the whipped cream only. We are proud that our feedback has been positively consistent over these eight years and that we have maintained a stellar delivery record. Of course, there have been some issues regarding orders and deliveries, but overall our on-time delivery is definitely commendable.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
As a company, we certainly want a brick and mortar location to reach a larger audience for our desserts, as well as create an international presence.
