Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina (Bree) Stern.
Hi Sabrina (Bree), it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In 2016, I graduated from Nursing School and began working Full time as a bedside nurse in the hospital. I quickly began traveling the world utilizing my flexible schedule and time off. In 2017, I began traveling every other month and took a total of 11 cruises. I continued to travel in 2018 while learning about various cultures and destinations. In January 2019, I took a trip to Kenya that was very transformative. From there, I traveled every month totaling 14 countries in 2019. After much thought and planning, I launched my website whereisbree.com in the fall of 2019. My passion for travel had grown so much more since I became a nurse. In 2019, I began planning itineraries, booking travel and curating trips for my Instagram followers, coworkers, friends and family. Through traveling and my love for sharing my travels, Tranzit Nation was founded. Tranzit Nation curates group experiences for those who want to be “Always in Tranzit to a new Destination”.
In January 2020, we hosted Tranzit Nation’s first Annual Cabin trip. The Cabin Trip was loads of fun and very eventful. Tranzit Nation’s first international trip was set for June 2020, however, due to the pandemic all international trips were canceled. Tranzit Nation and traveling took a backseat during the pandemic. I worked endless hours as a nurse caring for COVID-19 patients during the pandemic. I traveled to New Jersey in April 2020 to work in a hospital which had minimal resources and minimal staff. After working two months in New Jersey, I traveled to Jacksonville, Florida to assist with Covid-19 testing sites and delivering testing results to patients. The COVID-19 cases increased once more and I traveled to Texas to care for COVID-19 patients. My most recent assignment was in California where I worked for two months in the hospital in February & March 2021. My leisure travels have slowed down quite a bit.
However, I am ready to safely travel again and continue my travel journey. Nursing and traveling have been my focus for quite some time and I have been blessed to do both. Travel nursing has made it possible for me to meet people all over the United States and explore places I never would have. Today, I am an avid travel planner, Nurse and New graduate Nurse Practitioner. I will continue to provide worthwhile experiences and opportunities for many people to explore the world around them. This is an exciting time and there is so much to see and learn!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. The pandemic really slowed down travel and also prevented me from graduating in May 2020 as planned. However, I am proud to say I graduated in August 2020.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am known for Travel Blogging and sharing very detailed stories on Instagram about my travels. I am a content creator and I enjoy storytelling through vibrant photos and telling captions. I aim to motivate people to explore the world whether it is local travel or international travel.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is to just go with the flow and just do whatever it is you want to do. Second guessing limits your ability to flow and also places limits on what you truly desire. Do what you ultimately have a passion for without placing a monetary value on that idea or thing. It is much more rewarding to do what you love.
