Meet Ryan Kennedy of The Kennedy Academy at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Kennedy.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ryan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The Kennedy Academy began as just one Professional wanting to change the way golf was taught. Too many people lose faith in lessons because they desire the short term fixes instead of long term progress. Ultimately, they find that the band-aid will fall off.

What began as getting clients to commit to a 3 Month Unlimited Membership, has now grown to include a Junior Academy with a 15-year curriculum and monthly memberships for adult group training. All programs are based on long-term progress with clear detailed goals.

We are using the latest technology and the science of motor learning to measure, assess, set measurable goals and speed up the process of learning and retention for the golf course. It’s much more than just teaching the golf swing. Our main focus is in coaching our clients to shoot lower scores through course management & mental strategies… playing golf instead of playing golf swing!

Has it been a smooth road?
Like any new or different method, buy-in is the most important. However, when the friends of our clients see the progress for themselves it becomes much easier to gain interest.
Long term clients have seen great benefit from using PGA Tour level stat tracking to set measurable goals to achieve. Sometimes it’s easier to see the gain of 15 extra yards off the tee than saving 1 or 2 strokes per round around the greens. Stat tracking makes this possible.

The Kennedy Academy is helping golfers of all ages and abilities find their potential. We are addicted to the process of getting better. Our focusing on using the coaching model has set us apart from the traditional teaching of the golf swing. A look at the PGA Tour will tell you that it’s not about having a pretty swing. It must be functional and repeatable. Since we deal with all ages, we must find out what each player’s body is capable and design a swing around their range of motions.
