Meet Rwan Abdelmonem of Blush & Ivory Events in Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rwan Abdelmonem.

Rwan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My professional background is in Mechanical Engineering, and after almost five years in the industry, I realized that this was not my passion. I have a great eye for detail which helped me excel in my career, but I knew I wanted to take it further. Being a bride myself three years ago, I knew how stressful planning a wedding was. I spent two years planning my own wedding to ensure everything was exactly how I wanted. One thing that was super important was hiring an event planner to help me with all the tiny detail and be there the day of the wedding to take care of all the craziness that goes on the day of.

Taking my love for planning and my eye for detail, Blush and Ivory Events was created! I have been blessed to plan not only weddings but other types of events from bridal showers all the to baby showers! What started off as a small business with me, myself, and I grew and partnered up with many trusted vendors in the Los Angeles area.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting a new business is never easy, especially if you are not well known. The biggest struggle I faced was knowing how to get a stranger to trust me 100% with their special day. Everyone wants their day to be a once in a lifetime experience and learning to let go and trust a planner is not always easy, but I know all the tips and tricks to make a hectic day seem like a piece of cake!

Please tell us about Blush & Ivory Events.
Weddings or any event in general can get very expensive. Every little thing can add on and make the cost jump. Knowing that being a bride myself, I decided to cater to budget-friendly weddings and events. No one should ever feel the pressure of planning and coordinating their event to make it affordable, and that is something that I am very proud of. I love that I get to make someone’s day special without them feeling any ounce of stress.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have started this a lot sooner! Waking up at 4:30 am everyday to drive for 2 hours to get to work wasn’t an ideal life for me. I wanted to enjoy my home and my family. The love that I have for this business is indescribable and I am happy that I finally found my calling and cannot wait to see what’s to come in the future!
