Meet Russ Taylor of FUSION OF IDEAS in Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Russ Taylor.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Russ. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
FUSION OF IDEAS was first incorporated in Utah, where I lived and attended school at Brigham Young University. I moved to California right when mobile technology and smartphones started gaining popularity. The company has always been focused on creating experiences and concierge-style services. We entered the mobile technology space by selling phone accessories and protective covers at a kiosk inside The Shops at Mission Viejo (in Orange County)., As business grew, so did our retail footprint. We opened our first brick-and-morter store at Irvine Spectrum Center, at the perfect time, right before the first Apple iPhone hit the market. It was then, when we saw a demand among consumers for device customization and FUSION OF IDEAS was the first to market to meet those demands with carbon fiber-like protective films, along with laser customization.

We developed a strong business relationship with Apple and moved away from consumer sales to strictly business-to-business sales, providing customization and large rollout programs for companies across the nation. App development was added and then came logistics integration. Along with customization, these are now our three core services. We are proud to have created programs for many well-known brands such as Capital One, Audi, Major League Baseball, and Hilton.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to get to where we are today hasn’t always been smooth. There were two defining moments in my journey that shaped my business into what it is today. The first learning moment involved a burglary when we were still at our retail location. Even though it was a significantly negative event, it taught me a huge lesson about hiring qualified employees, putting the right security in place, creating a secure work environment, and being “all in” when it came to what I wanted to do with our business.

Another turning point was at a time of booming success for my retail business. Apple recognized our success and began referring their customers to FUSION OF IDEAS for mobile customization needs. It was clear at that point that I needed to seize the opportunity and turn it into something bigger. I determined that the business-to-business side was where my company would be able to turn the most profits. I left the retail space and focused specifically on business sales to cultivate the company’s valuable relationship with Apple, one of the most significant brands in the world. Without this partnership, the company would not be where it is today.

Please tell us about FUSION OF IDEAS.
FUSION OF IDEAS is a mobile brand integrator. What that means is that we help businesses maximize the use of their existing mobile technology through custom branding, integration logistics, and app development.

We have partnered with some of the world’s top companies to transform their business processes and elevate their brand equity using smart mobility solutions. Our proprietary color and laser customization process allows us to brand any technology device with high-quality graphics without voiding the manufacturer’s device warranty. On the app development side, we work with our clients to develop custom mobile software solutions, and all of our design and development is done in-house in America.

And finally, we are a mobility integration partner, managing the many tasks and requirements for a company to integrate the mobile device into their workforce. With our end-to-end mobility integration services, our clients never have to touch a single device.
