Meet Roy Heskel of Deluxe Vanity & Kitchen in San Fernando Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roy Heskel.

Deluxe Vanity & Kitchen was founded by David Laniado in 2001. At that time, as a major home developer, and licensed general contractor, David noticed a lack of custom looking bathroom vanities in the pre-made product marketplace. In addition, building a custom vanity takes a lot more time and a lot more money! He had a vision to create products that have a very custom design at an affordable price, while still maintaining high end quality.

David launched Deluxe Vanity & Kitchen, opening the first retail location in Downtown Los Angeles. This store tailored to large volume developers and wholesale customers, primarily offering bathroom vanities and kitchen cabinets, along with general construction services. The consumer reactions were phenomenal and the company boomed. In 2009, Ben Laniado, David’s son joined the company. With his fresh entrepreneurial spirit, Ben decided to move the business to the valley where the construction industry was growing. Located on Sherman Way, in Van Nuys, they opened a beautiful 4,500 square foot, open layout store with multiple kitchen and bathroom displays, featuring over 100 different vanities. With tremendous positive customer feedback the company continued to thrive.

After David’s retirement in 2013, Ben partnered with Roy Heskel to explore new avenues for the company’s expansion. With the new partnership in place, the company expanded into new verticals, building connections with major kitchen and bath plumbing brands such as Kohler, Hansgrohe, Toto, Laviva and many more. With these new connections, Deluxe Vanity and Kitchen developed into a “one stop shop” for all renovations. To offer their services nationwide, they launched a new and improved e-commerce website, with over 500,000 products, servicing thousands of customers, and are fulfilling their mission of becoming a well-known home renovation brand. Deluxe Vanity & Kitchen continues to offer kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities along with name brand countertops, faucets, toilets, tubs, plumbing supplies, and even wood and tile flooring.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
In general, the road has been very smooth. However, it’s always a challenge to predict the markets trends. Because remodeling styles constantly change, it is important that we continue to update our product line, and store displays accordingly. Our team of professionals, are always up-to-date with new designs and upcoming styles. We consistently go to exhibits and trade conventions to educate ourselves on industries evolution.

Deluxe Vanity & Kitchen – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our company is a full home remodeling store. We provide everything from the products to even the contracting portion of the job. Because of our general construction license, we have the additional knowledge needed to really guide the customer through the process in a correct and timely manner. Our store carries hundreds of vanities, kitchen cabinets, countertops, sinks, faucets, flooring, and even tile.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
For us success is defined by customer satisfaction. Remodeling or any construction project is usually challenging and stressful. Our goal is to walk customers through this process, to make it smooth, fun, and a memorable experience. At the end of the day, we want to surpass our customers’ expectations, and have their trust so they will recommend us to their family and friends.
