Meet Roula Aljabban of Commerce Mitsubishi and Lana Beauty Bar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roula Aljabban.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey in the business world started when my husband and I decided to open a printing company. I Worked as a marketing director/manager and side by side, my husband and I were able to build our business up quickly and became a huge success. A few years later, my husband and I decided to expand our business opportunities and go into the car business. While he started his auto career as an owner/partner at Commerce Mitsubishi, I decided to venture out and get into the beauty industry. I became an esthetician and started my own company LANA BEAUTY BAR and beauty line LANA BEAUTY. I have to say though, It wasn’t as easy going to school in person, raising two kids, and managing a business but with determination, drive and support, I was able to do it.

I am a very driven person and always want to learn more, so while building my beauty business, I was always learning about the auto industry through my husband. It is a very different career than the beauty industry and that’s what made it even more challenging, BUT, I love challenges. I wanted to create new things and advance, so I expanded my career to advanced master esthetics, attended the DMK school and added to my certifications. Of course I didn’t want to stop, so I flew overseas to bring back a product material that is exclusively sold by LANA BEAUTY, a facial exfoliating mitt, Made here in the USA. Being competitive doesn’t mean I want it all to myself, I LOVE to help. So when I am reached out by new estheticians to help them start their own business, I made time to walk them through it. Always happy to help and humbled to be contacted by new small business owners. I also make time to volunteer at a local homeless youth shelter (CASA Youth Shelter) to teach kids how to be strong, talk about cars, start a business, take care of their skin and never give up.

In 2022, I found myself standing alone, with my career and my husband’s, as he had passed away unexpectedly. I really wasn’t sure if it was humanly possible to do it all, but I kept going and kept proving myself wrong. Eventually, I found myself getting stronger and stronger with every passing day. I was able to accomplish all this because of the strength that my dad gave me, along with time management, believing in myself, and the determination to keep a roof over my children’s heads. I work with an amazing team at Commerce Mitsubishi that I call my second family and enjoy every minute working there and learning about the cars. So if you need a car, you know where to go. Always mention my name for the VoyageLA discount.

I want to let women out there know that if they feel like “that’s it” “I can’t do it” that YES, they can. I am never giving up, so my children know that anything is possible if we put our minds and heart into it.
I am a widow, mom to two amazing children, a business owner to two businesses, and will always find time to make memories with my kids and grow both careers, as I always say “Sky is the limit”.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
In May of 2022, I lost my father unexpectedly. Was only 66 years old. He was my best friend and my strength in life. Felt like my mountain collapsed. My mom moved in with my husband and I and I took over my dad’s affairs and selling his dental practice. I was able to do this because of the man he was. He gave me this strength by modeling what it takes to push through, even the toughest of times. In the next 19 weeks, it was very hard to do it all, helping my kids deal with the loss of their grandfather, working, being a mom and trying to find time for myself to grieve, but I did, still standing as strong as I could. Little did I know though, that my strength was going to be tested even further. In September of 2022, my husband of 23 year passed away unexpectedly. (44 years old) It’s hard to explain how life was then, I was lost, confused, shocked and everything seemed so surreal. But I had to stay strong for my kids. I needed to stand strong and keep going, while still grieving my dad, now the load was 10 times more. So yes, it wasn’t a smooth road, but I had to keep going and I still am.

As you know, we’re big fans of Commerce Mitsubishi and Lana Beauty Bar. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Commerce Mitsubishi offers new and used Mitsubishi Models along with all other used makes and models. We offer repair and parts services along with trade in’s. So if you come in, you will find me walking around from the showroom to the service department or behind the computer working. Our customers are our number one priority, and their satisfaction is our goal.

As for LANA BEAUTY BAR, I offer customized facial treatments, from organic Facials, Peels, DMK Skin revisions to master acne, pigmentation and aging treatments. Offering facials to clients isn’t the only thing I like to do, I enjoy educating clients about their skin and offering skincare tips and products as they need.

Both of my businesses are built on trust, caring and customer is always a priority! Don’t forget to mention VOYAGE LA for discounts at both of my businesses.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The auto industry will always be advancing into newer technology and expanding into the digital world. The focus will be on Electric and hybrid cars, just like our Mitsubishi PHEV. Online purchasing will also become a way to process a purchase as that digital world leads on.

As the beauty industry continues to evolve, it has always been fast to answer the demands of clients and will be advancing in new mechanical treatments. I definitely see more reef-friendly products and treatments. As time is valuable, mechanical treatments will be the bigger shift as it helps get to faster results in less time.
