Today we’d like to introduce you to Rose Emanuel.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Rose. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I wanted to become an actress ever since I was four years old. My parents decided to listen to my constant nagging about being put into a theatre school. Growing up in London, England there was a very well known school for performers called Sylvia Young Theatre School. It was extremely rare to get in, and you had to audition. I ended up auditioning when I was nine and based on pure talent, I was accepted.
After joining Sylvia Young, I started booking commercials and landed a spot on Disney Channel in the UK as a guest presenter. Disney ended up wanting to give me my own TV series called “Ketchup” but sadly, we were moving to the US, and I had to decline the offer. Once moving to the US, I began to push and push to make myself known in the industry.
I ended up creating my own TV series with my now business partner Lucas Marten, who was also one of my best friends since high school. We added an amazing production company to tag along with us which includes Chelsea Bo and Sean Drummond.
So not only being an actress, I’m now in the process of shopping my TV series to different production companies along with an amazing team in association with my own production company, MOE Entertainment which is partnered with Paxeros Creative.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If it’s a smooth road, then it’s going to crumble in the end, that’s what I believe. The obstacles are what make the journey, and your struggles only make you push harder and feel more humbled and deserving when you reach your final destination.
There have been a lot of “no” answers along the way, locating the right people, laughs, and people who don’t believe in you. However, with all the negativity there is a much higher vibration of positivity. That’s what you have to focus on in this industry, positive thoughts leading to positive outcomes as long as you work your hardest and never give up.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about MOE Entertainment – what should we know?
My production company is in its very early stages. We want to develop fresh content that’s exciting, funny and very female-driven. MOE Entertainment is named after my grandma Mo, who sadly passed away a few years ago.
She was an empowering woman who always believed in me and would push me to keep going no matter what anyone said. She’s the reason for the production company name, and she’s the reason we came up with such a wonderful TV series concept She inspired it all.
What sets us apart is that we mostly want to work on projects that are in a different time period. To me, going back in time just feels so nostalgic and has a sense of magic behind it, especially the 20s-60s.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
A positive attitude and a go-getter personality are the key characteristics of my success. Yes, I still have a long way to go but it’s how I’ve gotten this far and how I’ve received such incredible connections.
Staying humble is also a major characteristic and being kind to one another by supporting and not tearing other people down for their dreams along with yours.
