Meet Rochele Jones of Royalty Creations in Pasadena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rochele Jones.

Rochele, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started Royalty Creations as my company because I was blessed with many talents. My talents are many so I wanted to put them under one category and that was Royalty Creations. The Ro in Royalty is the first two initials of my name. My favorite color is Purple so that’s where I got Royalty.

I’m always creating so I chose Creations. I started off making gift baskets & party decor. But then I wanted to get my hands in hair. So I attracted a few people who trusted me to learn and work on their heads. Practice makes perfect before you knew it I was on to something.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing is worth having is an easy task. My journey had its ups and downs. But I stuck with it.

I’ve had trouble finding clients who wanted to be styled and actually pay for it. People who knew me for working in the medical field. Like she’s doing hair? And basically not trusting me to do a good job.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Royalty Creations – what should we know?
Royalty Creations I am a freelance hair designer. I specialize in natural hair stylings such as Crochet Styling, Braids, Protective Styles and Hair Care.

I’m proud that Black Women are going back to our Roots. We are embracing our own natural kinky hair. I’m mostly proud of the connection I have with my clients.

I think what sets me apart from others is that I’m willing to go the extra mile.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I give all the credit to my clients. Without them I’m nothing. I give them the credit for allowing me to create masterpieces with my fingertips.
