Meet Robert Morita of Boxfli in Costa Mesa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Morita.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Robert. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started with Boxfli about a month before the first store opened. They found me working a regular boring retail job and hooked me with the intrigue and excitement of opening up a brand new store, a brand new idea. The pitch was crystal clear in my head: A re-imagining of the standard shipping store. The services of a UPS store, the aesthetic of an Apple store, the customer service of a Starbucks store all rolled into one. Boxfli.

I arrived on my first day to an empty store, nothing like what I had imagined from the interviews before. We got started within minutes carefully setting out the merchandise, preparing the mailboxes, loading our point of sale. Just weeks later, we had put together the very first Boxfli.

I continued with the company and became more involved in meetings with the owners and investors, something I could have never imagined at my previous jobs.

After about six months, my manager left the company to spend more time with her daughter (only a few years old at the time) and I took on the role of managing the whole of Boxfli. The transition was seamless and we kept growing the company. Another six months and we opened up our second location in Mission Viejo, CA.

Another six months and we launched our web store, www.boxfli.com. We had a strong team of employees all working together to help make Boxfli something bigger and better than all of the places we had worked before.

I am still here at Boxfli and we are still growing.

Has it been a smooth road?
Most of running Boxfli has been smooth. There are no major obstacles I feel we have had to tackle as of yet aside from logistical advertising sort of obstacles. Nothing interview-worthy.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Boxfli is a one-stop shipping store. We have everything you need to send a package or gift as well as mailbox rentals to receive them.

We have our own wide selection of carefully curated gifts and greeting cards ranging from the serious and sentimental to the goofy and outrageous. Once you have your gifts together, we can help you pick out a box from our selection of over 30 sizes and over 50 designs. We have environmentally friendly packing materials such as our colorful crinkled paper that we use in place of plastic packing peanuts. After we finish up the box, we can either tie it up with a bow or tape it up and ship it out. We ship with FedEx, USPS, and DHL to provide options for both domestic and international shipping.

Our mailbox rentals provide a comprehensive set of services for anyone who wants to receive their mail at our safe and secure locations. We have locked boxes with 24-hour access. We include complimentary email notifications for mail and packages so you never have to make a trip in if you don’t have mail. We also offer mail forwarding options for people who are on-the-go or have moved away. We have a licensed Notary on staff most days to help with any documents you or your business might need notarized.

Boxfli sets itself apart by being the colorful store. People come in to check us out from the street just because of how fun our store looks. It’s a fun place for even the most boring of tasks. To top everything off, we place our staff focus on customer service. Being friendly and helpful is a must and our clients let us know how much they appreciate it.
