Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Lopez.
Hi Robert, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The idea of opening up a coffee shop started in 2017. I remember not having enough money to open it. I would always talk to my dad about opening the coffee shop in the future and how it was my dream to open one up and serve the community and collaborate with other businesses in the shop. One day he sat me down and told me he would help me open it up. We decided to partner up and have it as a family business. It took about over a year and we were able to open collaborative coffee bar in June of 2019.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It wasn’t a smooth road. We had some hurdles along the way. From finding the right space for it and obtaining the permits were some of the struggles along the way. We had decided on one space and then decided to relocate to a new space at one point for the coffee shop.
We’ve been impressed with Collaborative Coffee Bar, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own and manage Collaborative Coffee Bar alongside with my dad. What sets us apart is that we specialize in unique drinks from a lucky charms oat milk cereal latte to a peanut butter honey latte, an orange oasis latte and even a strawberry latte. We have a variety of coffee roasters in our shop that range across the United States. We also host our space for small businesses to pop up in our shop hence the name collaborative coffee bar. What I’m most proud brand-wise is that we are known for fun unique drinks as well as a community shop, everyone is welcomed here and people know us for using our space to have pop up events. If you come to Collaborative Coffee Bar expect a creative space to take pictures in, unique drinks, a friendly atmosphere, and events.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
We are the first specialty coffee shop in Lakewood, California. We also use our space for people to use for video interviews and podcasts.
